4 things you need to know for next week's CoreNet Symposium

With 1 week to go to the CoreNet Symposium, we’re excited to give you four bits of important information:

1. The Symposium app is now available for attendees to download and use

This year an app will be the primary way to register on the day, view the programme, learn about our speakers and sponsors, order coffees, participate in polls and Q&A on the day, and to connect with fellow delegates. It is the essential tool for the day, and we recommend you install it on your phone before the 16th May!

To download the app on your iPhone or Android devices: If you have registered for the day, you will have been sent an email with simple instructions. Any new registrations from now will be sent a link with logins. Should you require any assistance with the App prior to the Symposium, please email [email protected]

2. Pre-Symposium Soirée at Alberts

The pre-Symposium Soirée will raise the curtain on 24 hours of symposium goodness. Taking place at Alberts Club, 1 Albert Street, on Tuesday, 16 May doors open at 5:30pm and the event will run until 7:30pm.

Tickets are $148, or $65 with your delegate ticket, purchased via [email protected].

3. New feature: 3 RED Talks

Always looking to give attendees new insights, this year we will feature three 5-minute talks in the style of TED Talks from three rising leaders in our industry who are doing things that in our view stand out:

Polly Markus, Samantha McGavock, Charlie Bott

  • Polly Markus leads a multifaceted life, known to some as an Auckland real estate agent, and to nearly 60,000 Instagram followers as the face behind Miss Polly’s Kitchen. Her day job sees her operate as a specialist office leasing agent for Bayleys, while her ‘side hustle’ Miss Polly’s Kitchen or MPK is sharing recipes and cooking tips via social media and now a published cookbook author.
  • Samantha McGavock - Six years ago, Sam and her sister formed their company, Done. Since then, they’ve been managing and contributing to projects that benefit the environment and communities of Aotearoa. Sam is trained in ‘Regenerative Practice’ by Regenesis Group and she has contributed to a number of projects throughout Aotearoa which seek to regenerate their surroundings. Sam will share what regeneration means to her and the work she has undertaken alongside community.
  • Charlie Bott - Commercial property leasing agent turned townhouse developer, Charlie will talk about the regeneration of Auckland’s streetscapes, and how he pivoted in 2020 to pursue a passion for design and build of residential projects: specifically, providing options for first home buyers to get a quality new build at an affordable price and exploring the room for improvement from what is being built currently.

4. Tune into Interior Awards presentations at the symposium

Anyone in two minds about attending the Interior Awards presentations or the CoreNet Symposium may want to know that we will be setting up a screen in the networking area at the symposium to enable you to view the presentations live – so make life easy and do both at the CoreNet Symposium!

Here we go: 1 week to go! Speakers are packing their bags around NZ and the world to come to Auckland next week. Scott Jacobs and I won't need to pack a bag to join them, as we're not far away, but we're both really looking forward to speaking at this superb event!
