THE 4 THINGS TO DO EACH DAY ON LINKEDIN THAT TAKE LESS THAN 20 MINUTES

THE 4 THINGS TO DO EACH DAY ON LINKEDIN THAT TAKE LESS THAN 20 MINUTES

As the saying goes, let's work smarter, and not harder.

So many people are either spending too much time on social media or don't have a system in place to be more strategic with the time they are spending on the platform of their choice.

On LinkedIn, there are so many different things we can do daily, but I wanted to go over the 4 things we should do every day (minus Saturday and Sunday) to get incredible growth in our businesses on LinkedIn in less than 20 minutes:

1. Send out your targeted new connections:

In order to have any of this process work for you, you must have the right people in your network to whom you are connected to. If you don't have quality connections, how do you expect to book quality calls?

The other thing to keep in mind is who and how many people you are connecting with.

Your connections should be either:

  • Your ideal client avatar
  • Power partner for business referrals and collaborations

Additionally, never forget that we all have a 100 connection sent per week limit, so don't go over that number or you will get restricted.

2. Message your connections from the day prior:

Once you have the right people in your network, it's now time to start connecting with them. As I have mentioned in prior pieces of training, podcast episodes, and newsletter editions, follow my "magic formula".....

  • State their name in a relaxed and connectable
  • Creating a relatable connecting point between you and the other person (state the obvious connection)
  • Finish with a simple CTA (call to action to hop on a call or zoom)

3. Create a piece of value-added content:

Educational/Informational LinkedIn Live/Native Video:

It doesn't matter if this is done via native LinkedIn Video or LinkedIn Live, video is king when it comes to building a connection with your audience. Video is also one of the scariest things for people to do right now.

Yes, it does show a vulnerable side of you, but that is actually a good thing when you are looking to make a meaningful connection with your network. If you are going to native video (pre-recorded), make sure it's 2-4 minutes of you giving tips or education on a topic that is in your wheelhouse.

LinkedIn Poll to find out what the pain points are of your audience:

Questions will always lead to answers and LinkedIn Polls are a great way to conduct this. I do about 2 polls per week to help me create the content that you see me post about. I am not going to create content based on what I think people need to hear about, instead, I am going to ask them what they are struggling with or what they want to improve so I can then in turn create content based on their needs, not my want.

The more that you find out where people need help in their businesses using polls, the more organic engagement you will receive in return due to the value-added information that you are providing.

Long-form LinkedIn Newsletter or Article to give deeper education and information:

Now that LinkedIn allows you to publish a newsletter and simultaneously have it pushed out to those who have subscribed, makes it an absolute game-changer. LinkedIn Newsletters also allow you to build trust and rapport daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Your frequency will determine how quickly you can build the "know, like and trust" factor with your audience. My recommendation is to publish weekly or bi-weekly to stay top of mind.

When you are consistent with your long-form Newsletter content, it will add to your credibility. We are all looking for ways to build our credibility. A fantastic way to do so is to have a reputable newsletter that educates and informs your growing audience.

4. Engage in 2 other connections content:

Support those with whom you are connected. As much as there is a focus on you producing content, you must also recognize those in your network that are doing the same thing. Something I do on a daily basis is find 2 of my connections that have produced a piece of content that I truly resonate with, and support them and the content by liking and commenting.

Just to be clear, I am not writing, "Great post!" or " high five emoji". What I am writing is a significant contribution to their post. I am going to go above and beyond to add additional value to what they have already spoken about to bring more relevance to the post and my comment.

This is a very simple way to pay it forward but to get additional eyeballs on your profile and content by supporting others.

Which do you have to do more of?

Wow, another awesome edition, thank you Scott! I'm not as quick as you to hop into Zoom calls, but I've had great success with my LI Newsletter. When I start conversations, I casually share the URL of my "Leverage LinkedIn by Timo" Newsletter. The subscription rates have been really high. I started to engage and build relationships with experts and influencers about 2 months ago, and it has been a game-changer for me.
