Portland Design Month is more than a festival — it's an invitation to see our city with new eyes. In the past, this event was limited to one week. This year, we’re excited to announce that it will run for a full month, featuring numerous events and workshops around the city by nonprofits, designers, students, companies, and you (our awesome attendees). Whether you're a designer, artist, student, or creative enthusiast, Portland Design Month is a fantastic opportunity to learn, network, and create — all in the spirit of celebrating the weird, wonderful culture of Portland. Bring your friends, your curiosity, your unfinished projects, and your favorite beanie (optional). Let’s connect and make some cool stuff. The Festival is a community-driven event series featuring keynote speakers, exhibitions, community art, hands-on workshops, performances, and more, all hosted by Portland’s thriving design community. Our events come from the community, and AIGA Portland provides organizational support.

Our next PDX Design Month Partner Spotlight is for Kitchen Table Magazine, a voice for inclusive food culture, sustainability, our relationship with place, and our ability to be present in a world of digital distraction. ?? ? When asked why they wanted to participate in Design Month, founder Brett Warnock said: "I was a Visual Design grad from the University of Oregon, and have spent my entire adult life in comics publishing, as editor, publisher, and art director. In those early years—pre-internet as we know it—resources were few and far between for learning the ropes of publishing, so I made it up as I went along, and not always in the most logical linear path. "If we're able to help aspiring publishers and/or designers by showing our process in putting together our most recent issue, and answering any questions, then I'd be stoked to pass this knowledge forward." ??
