4 Stages of Life ( Professional )

The four life stages in ancient and medieval Indian texts are Brahmacharya, Grihastha, Vanaprastha, and Sannyasa.?

Why am I mentioning this on LinkedIn??Is it relevant? Absolutely. In fact, this is the base.

These 4 stages are often misunderstood as AGE-based life stages, but it isn't. Let us understand from the perspective of a "Leadership role".

Brahmacharya ( Student life )

During this phase we learn about the organisation, culture, business, sales, operations, and, most importantly, the people. Focus and attention to detail are crucial.

Grihastha ( household life )

As we learn what is what, maintaining, growing and sustaining the team is the next phase of the leadership role. To maintain the teams, we need sustainable business, and doing whatever it takes to maintain is critical. In this phase, another important aspect is grooming future leaders through coaching, training, and providing exposure.

Vanaprastha ( Delegate phase )

After we identified and groomed the next leaders, we should empower them and delegate the decision-making function to them. In this phase, detach yourself from the actions - but?oversee and guide the new leaders & mentor them as required.

Sannyasa ( Renounce )

Taking this ultimate step as a leader is very important. Do not hesitate to move on to the next challenge within the organization, or if no challenge is available, pick the next best option.

These are not just applicable for leadership roles in an organization, but every role goes through these 4 stages.
