Night time can be a dangerous time for putting on extra kilos. It’s a time where you are not as busy, have access to an array of nasty snacks in your pantry and are less active. Here are four ways that can help you avoid putting on weight at night.

1. Don't eat after dinner.
Once you've had dinner, if you mentally tell yourself that you are done eating for the day and don’t give yourself that option, you’re less inclined to eat again afterwards, especially on snacks that are usually high in sugar or fat, such as chocolate and chips.

2. Brush your teeth after dinner.
When you brush your teeth after dinner, it tells your mind you're not going to eat anymore. So it's like a cue. Also you'd be less inclined to eat again because you probably won’t want to bother brushing your teeth again. There’s also the mint taste in your mouth, which can be a deterrent for putting food in your mouth because it's not going to taste great.?

3. Prepare your lunch for the next day.
So once you've finished dinner, if you've got leftovers, put those into a container and take them with you to work the next day, which means you'll have a meal already prepared rather than going out to buy a poor takeaway option, which are normally high in calories and fat.

4. Stick to a sleep routine.
Sleep is very important for fat loss and to maintain your health as well. If you're not getting enough sleep, your body doesn't work in a way where you can lose fat at the most optimal rate. So you want to make sure you're getting enough sleep, at least seven hours. Make sure you have a good sleep routine and with some methods to wind down before you go to sleep to assist.
