4 simple ways to leverage Copilot Generative AI capabilities to boost productivity over 25%

Introduction

Copilot is a powerful AI companion designed to enhance productivity, creativity, and understanding through simple chat interactions. These copilots can work alongside humans to assist with task automation, suggestions, and work acceleration. We communicate with generative AI using prompt engineering, which essentially involves sending commands to the AI engine and iterating as needed. ?This article covers 4 easy ways for you to take advantage of these productivity tools today; if you are not already doing so.

1. Co-pilot with Edge

2. Copilot for Mobile

3. Copilot (GitHub) VS code plugin

4. Copilot for Microsoft 365

1. Co-pilot with Edge (The easiest way to get started)

Microsoft Copilot for Edge is a dynamic tool that elevates your browsing experience. It includes features such as Smart Search and Assistance, Image & Idea generation, and Data discovery.? It is easy to get started. If you’re on a recent version of Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 and 11, you should already have access to Microsoft Copilot for Edge. (This remains a natural advantage and MOAT of Microsoft, their massive already-existing distribution for PC systems). ?A key feature of Copilot with Edge is access to internet data, which strengthens the capabilities of Generative AI (as it can work with more recent data as compared to ChatGPT). Copilot can analyze sample data for insights & data structure as well as come up with its sample data based on prompting.

2. Copilot for Mobile

Microsoft Copilot for Mobile brings the power of AI to your fingertips, making your smartphone even smarter. It can be installed from the Play Store or App Store. ?Copilot for Mobile helps you write, search, and plan more efficiently. In the example shown, I asked Copilot to create a personal website, and it generated the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript needed for a simple personal website. However, on a personal note, using productivity tools like Notion will be better for the use case presented.

Closing thoughts

As you move from 1&2 – 3&4, the capabilities of the AI model together with its app integration increases, but so too does the price. So the one to go for ultimately depends on your use case and needs. From my experience using GenAI tools, 1 and 2 have been good thus far in boosting productivity, and from available stats, 3 and 4 are also high-productivity GenAI tools.
