~~ 4-WAYS TO CLEANSE & DETOX AFTER THE HOLIDAY MEALS~~
Well I hope you guys took my recommendations on using plate sizes to dictate portion sizes through the holidays.. but if you didn't and went off the rails a bit more than you would of liked this holiday season... here are a few options to get you straight.. some are harder than others.. but all are effective at giving your digestive system some time off.. and helping you get back to normal!
#1: Most Difficult (1-5 Days in Length)
Commonly known as the Master Cleanse- my buddy Korey Goodwin uses this as a way to give his digestive system a true break-- but he is a bit nuts-- and takes it out to 10 days in duration.
For the purposes of "getting you back"... we will go 1-5 days..
In a Glass- Use 10oz of Purified Water, 2 Tablespoons of Lemon Juice (squeezed or lemon juice), 1/10 tbs of Cayenne Pepper, 2 tbs of Grade A Robust Maple Syrup!
First thing in AM- Add 2 level teaspoons of non-iodized sea salt to a full quart of lukewarm water. Drink the entire quart of salt and water first thing in the morning. NOTE: This must be taken on an empty stomach.
Drink 6-8 Glasses of this per day.. No Food! Limit Activity during first 24 hours as your system acclimates.
Finish the Day with Some Tea, called Smooth Moves.
#2: 3/4 Day Intermittent Fasting
From the time you wake-up, until dinner time, no solid food. You can consume lemon water through the day.. but that is it. For dinner, you can have a light salad and some fruit- then call it quits for the day.
#3: Liquid Diet
This regimen will allow you do consume only liquids: water, tea, fresh juices for the entire day. The goal again is to give the digestive system a break-- no solid food today which will allow things to even out- and your total caloric intake/ caloric average to balance out.
#4: Fruits & Salads (Easiest)
For those that cringe over the thought of not eating solids- which is mostly psychological, you can consume a diet for 1-3 days that is based on fruits, vegetables, teas, waters, and fresh juices. Again, steering clear of the solids until you are able to calm your probably "inflamed system".
These are 4-Tips that can be used to get you right. They are simple, practical, and easy to use. I suggest giving them a try- and then commenting to give us your feedback!
I hope everybody had a great holiday! These tips can also be used as a system reset at anytime during the year that you just "need a break" from eating! #eatlikeapro
**You can take any of the above suggestions multiple days if you would like!
