4 Signs Your Star Performer is About to Quit.

4 Signs Your Star Performer is About to Quit.

A client called recently and complained about being” blind-sided” by his top performer who just gave their notice.? He lamented about what he could have done if he only saw it coming.?

This made me think about signs we should pay attention to, and when we notice them, have a 1-on-1 conversation and address issues they may have while finding ways to improve their situation.

Are they taking an unusual number of sick days. ?This could be signs that either they are interviewing or have become apathetic toward their job

Have they become more reserved.?? When you start to notice a drop in production, involvement, and interest in their job, it is a warning sign. It may be that they feel bored or unappreciated.

Doing the bare minimum to get by.? If they are slow to finish assignments, not meeting deadlines, and making stupid mistakes then there is a problem. ?

Not accepting new assignments. ?Are they coming up with excuses not to schedule certain trips? ?Suggesting that their work be given to someone else for dubious?reasons? Then there is a problem.

By noticing these and other warning signs, you can intervene before it's too late and get them re-motivated to stay with the company.

I’d like to hear your thoughts on other red flags you have seen and how you dealt with them.
