4 SEO tips to pole position your website

4 SEO tips to pole position your website

So, you've got a website. It has most likely cost you a lot of time, headaches, effort and money to develop. What's next?

We live in an ever evolving world, but some things never change: trolls on the net... Elon Musk buying companies... and Google's online presence scrutiny of your website. This is where you should focus from now on to make it to the top (and keep there!).

Here are 4 great SEO tips to optimize your website positioning and make it appear on the first pages of the world's most dominant search engine.

We are going to assume that a professional web designer has created the website for you. Therefore it is a responsive website; that is, it has a web?design?adaptable to the device that is being used on (PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc.). It also has been configured in such a way that SEO optimization has been taken into account.

So, if you can tick those preliminary tasks off (if not, we highly recommend you begin with the basics), let's dive in.

1. Content is king. Period.

If you want to obtain organic positioning (achieved without doing advertising campaigns), the creation of quality content is the key, capable of answering the doubts and concerns of your buyer persona. You should, therefore, create content that responds and provides a solution to a common “problem”?(How do smart appliances work??How do we perceive our own reality?).?Knowing how to make a web copy that works helps a lot to connect with your audience (and Google...).

You should always keep your audience in mind, but really, don't forget about Google. Remember that your articles should have a word count greater than 300 if they reach up to 1,000 words, upload it on your website following SEO rules for optimization and share it on social networks to spread it properly.

Wait times are so 90s. It's not just about user experience. It can also affect your SEO. If your page takes ages to load, users are unlikely to stick around

2. SEO off-page: let's make some friends!

Another way to improve the positioning of your website is through SEO off-page actions, activating a series of tactics to obtain external links that point to your website and thus improve the organic positioning in search engines.

Again, having a blog with useful content is the key to attract traffic and generate interest for other blogs and websites to link to your site. Also, then use social networks to viralize this content.

Another tactic is link building. That is, getting other websites to link off to your website, so search engines consider it relevant and position it better in the rankings. This technique can be done naturally, when other websites with similar interests link back to your website; or manually, contacting the administrators of the pages to seek a standard agreement with the exchange. There are also automatisms to achieve this with spam-type methods, but we do not recommend this, because they are increasingly persecuted and punished by (guess who!) Google.

3. Boost your speed page loads

Wait times are so 90s. It's not just about user experience. It can also affect your SEO. If your page takes ages to load, users are unlikely to stick around, increasing your bounce rate. Avoid using oversized pictures and keep an eye on their weight.

Look for any other page elements that might be increasing your load time. Plenty of plugins charging? Try removing them to increase your page's speed.

Wondering if your site can make it to the pole position? Google PageSpeed Insights is a free SEO tool that analyzes and ranks your desktop and mobile page speed on a scale of zero (slowest) to 100 (fastest).

FYI: Website conversion rates drop by an average of 4.42% with each additional second of load time (between seconds 0-5). [Portent]

4. If all else fail, you can always pay for ads :)

If you need fast positioning, this is your best option. You can undergo a paid campaign through?Google Ads. They consist of advertising campaigns in which you choose the keywords that your potential customers will search for content in Google, to appear as one of those top sites to click on.

Final cost will depend on how “demanded” those words are. Bear in mind that lots of people are looking for that same slice of pie you want, so the process is quite similar to an auction. You can understand the basics of Google Ads bidding strategies here.
