4 reasons why Nexere choose to commute to work in a post-pandemic world
?I know what you’re thinking: ‘Why wouldn’t you want to work from home?!’
?COVID has thrown us into a hybrid and remote working culture. The demand for flexible working has risen drastically, so you’re probably thinking I’ve lost the plot… This content may be controversial, and I completely respect other businesses decisions regarding COVID, but this set-up seems to work!
Pre-Nexere Work Life
?Before I joined Nexere, I spent 5 days working from home per week, for, let’s face it, more than 40 hours per week (none of us log off when we should anymore!). Like for many, I worked and slept in the same location and it was beginning to take its toll. Zoom fatigue slowed me down, the lack of human contact impacted my mental health and I suffered from imposter syndrome.?
So, when I was met with the idea of going back into an office regularly, it didn’t sound like a bad idea… My first impressions of Nexere were a breath of fresh air. I welcomed the change in location and pace with open arms. I walked into a bustling London Bridge office filled with smiling faces and high energy.?
?
So what brings the team in every day?
1. A Stimulating Atmosphere & Great Location
?Nexere’s offers a great workspace in the heart of London Bridge, overlooking the Shard with great transport links. With around 50 people in the office, the buzz is incredible. Everyone works hard to provide an excellent recruitment service across the technology industries. Passion oozes from each of the teams: IT, Telecoms, Cyber Security, Public Sector and Artificial Intelligence.?
?
2. Collaborative Working Team
Open communication within the team has been vital for growth. A flat structure is present - both our Managing Director, Sam Blake and CEO Andrew Yetzes are on the recruiting floor. There are no separate offices or barriers to senior staff members.?
?Also, when it comes to career opportunities, the Nexere team are encouraged to seize all prospects – collaborating with all teams and efficiently providing all they can to clients and candidates.?

3. Working Hours/Better Work-Life Balance?
?Nexere’s lucky number is 34. Why? Because we work 34 hours per week. We work the?lowest hours in the recruitment industry. 9am until 5pm, Monday to Thursday and then 9am until 4pm on a Friday. I have waited for my whole career to do ‘normal’ working hours! Working consistently and smart throughout the day has skyrocketed my productivity. The output is still ever-present and Nexere have hit the sweet spot for work/life balance and success.
?
4. Team bonding & socials
Being social is important. Whether it’s a small chat over a cup of tea or a team meeting about the next step in the process, the Nexere team are welcoming, warm, and friendly. There are plenty of social occasions happening throughout the year! Being in the office has given me a massive mental health boost. Not to mention, I’ve had my eye on the pool table and the in-office bar!
Nexere is growing fast with a hunger for hiring well. Not just the quality candidates in the Nexere Network, but the talented and nurturing team here. The team here are genuinely happy to come to work every day and that’s a big tick for me.?
If you’re looking for a breath of fresh air in your next career, get in touch with my wonderful colleague Chloe Holton. Alternatively, if you’re taking the first step into recruitment, we have a great graduate programme.?
Next job? Come to Nexere.?
