4 Reasons I Said Yes to Raenest as VP of Products

When I was presented with the opportunity to join Raenest as the VP of Products, it stood out among other considerations. Knowing how pivotal this decision would be in my career, I couldn’t help but ask: Is this just another fintech company, or is something different here?

So, why did I say yes to Raenest? The answer comes down to four key reasons that align with my expertise, values and vision for product leadership that creates a lasting impact.

1. Solving the challenge of helping African talent and businesses get paid globally is incredibly exciting. Raenest enables users to open USD, GBP, or EUR accounts, receive payments, and withdraw in their local currency—solving a critical pain point for businesses and individuals operating globally. What sets Raenest apart is its focus on long-term sustainability. Many fintech companies focus heavily on the “tech” and overlook the “fin”—the accounting, compliance, operations, and strong partnerships that are critical for success. Raenest’s commitment to building the right foundation for scale impressed me deeply. They’re not just solving today’s problems; they’re building for the future.
2. The product engineering and leadership teams at Raenest are some of the smartest and most driven people I’ve worked with. Before I joined the team, I remember my first in-person meeting with Victor Alade the CEO, in the UK. His genuine desire to solve a problem he had personally faced, combined with his openness to feedback were clear positive signs. What truly convinced me, though, was the alignment in our values—integrity and transparency. This is the role where I can see the immediate impact of my contribution, feedback is quick and results are immediate which speaks to the culture of the company.?

3. An opportunity to Drive Payment Innovation Using AI. With customer satisfaction at the forefront of our decision-making, at Raenest, we’re exploring how AI can increase onboarding rates, introduce gamification, and enhance operational efficiency allowing us to serve our customers faster and better. Being at the forefront of payment innovation in the global economy, particularly with the integration of AI, is incredibly exciting.

4. Building My Dream Product Team

One of the most exciting aspects of this role is the opportunity to shape and grow my dream product team. I lead a group of talented product managers, and it’s my honour to coach them, foster innovation, and establish a product culture where everyone feels empowered to create and excel. And I’m proud to play a significant role in shaping Raenest into one of the most admired companies—just like Google, Amazon, Stripe, and others we admire today.

My responsibility as VP of Product is to deeply understand what our customers care about and build products so good that they recommend us to their friends. A key part of this mission is fostering a product-led mindset across the organization
