Christmas is almost here.? The fridge is probably overflowing, the larder full and goodies piled high in corners on the worktops too do doubt.
Ready for the over-eating to commence.? When you do find yourself full and quietly dozing or half-watching Die Hard again, here’s a few excellent pondering questions to sit with.? No download, there are all here in this email for easy reference whenever you get a few minutes to yourself.
I’m a Fan of Great Questions.? Great questions are tin-openers of the mind.
There are no wrong answers to any of these questions.? But you will know for yourself what your right answer is immediately.? It might change each time you revisit them and that’s fine.? Or you may find an answer that will power you into 2025.
Either way, with my wishes for a Happy Christmas of port and Stilton nibbling, here they are.
4 Questions To Ponder
What happened this year?? Flick back through your calendar and remind yourself of events, celebrations, problems overcome, meetings, courses or trips away.? As you notice that something feels significant for you, just ask yourself why.
What did I learn this year?? In any way, a new skill, language, tool, process, hobby.? Or a new thought or feeling or belief.? Or a change to an old thought or feeling or belief.
What have I let go of this year?? Physically, as in weight or relationships or a job or a home or car or boxes of clutter from your spare room.? Or attitudes or ideas or opinions or habits.
What did I lean into this year? ?What new belief or idea or thought of feeling has arisen for me this year that I am now allowing to be more present for me day to day?

My Answers
Many things happened for me this year, but how I feel about all of them is that:
I learnt how much I had been avoiding.? I also learnt that I Can.
I let go of more perfectionism.? This may be a lifelong process, but this year I took a leap towards good enough, being good enough to start.
And I learnt that I am powerful in ways I hadn’t imagined I was.? I learnt the influence I have on people around me in even the smallest of moments, of touches, or a well-placed word or two.? This gives me hope that I can help more than I thought I could.? Also that I can take even more care to be mindful of my thoughts, words and actions.
Happy Christmas.
Warmly,
Neil
