4 Productivity Hacks from 4 Outstanding Entrepreneurs
You probably already know this: time is one of your most valuable assets (if not the most valuable one). The question is, do you live up to that truth? Some of the most important decisions you'll make as an entrepreneur are related to how you spend your time.
The following hacks will not only save you time but help you make the most out of the time you put into your business... Oh and did I mention these are the techniques entrepreneurs like Elon Musk and Richard Branson practice regularly? Keep reading so you can incorporate them in your daily routines as well.
#1 Richard Branson and making lists
Branson carries a notebook wherever he goes and creates lists to get his stuff done. While many people think that creating lists lowers productivity, the fact is that if you organize them the right way and work on the items so they don’t accumulate, it becomes a complete game changer for your performance. This is supported by the fact that the human brain is made to create and execute but not necessarily to remember everything.
#2 Eric Bandholz and focusing on getting less done
The founder of BeardBrand.com invites others to re-think the question, “how can I get more done?” and focusing on how to do less. This leaves the room for your imagination to kick in. You can get a virtual assistant and outsource some tasks, you can review your current processes and optimize them, you can try a new automation method, etc. This fresh approach will help you become more productive, which is the end goal.
#3 Elon Musk starts with critical emails
Even though Elon Musk is the CEO of three fast-paced companies, he only dedicates thirty minutes everyday to answer emails. According to Musk, the secret resides in filtering what is critical from what is not. By tackling the emails that have the highest priority or impact he is able to have a day full of activity dedicating his mind to what he considers the most important things for his business.
#4 Dustin Moskowitz and his meeting-free day
The CEO of Asana borrowed this practice from Facebook. Every Wednesday he blocks his calendar completely and focuses on getting his most important tasks done. He allows his employees to do the same. This brings him amazing results because he can be creative and proactive instead of just reacting to the tasks that demand his attention and time.
What are your thoughts on these hacks?
I hope you found them useful, now it’s time to jump straight into the practice.

3 年These are great Brett Beveridge. The other one I like from Jeff Bezos, is the elimination of PPT in meetings, replaced by clear memos read silently by all at the outset. The amount of time team members waste building ppt documents is pointless. Much of the wasted time is to satisfy some executive's need for a "deck".
