I broke my record but failed my goal…

I had no idea I could run 5km at 47 without stopping, let alone break my own personal best record.

This past weekend, during my first-ever 5km race, I didn’t succeed.

I failed to hit my secretly wished goal of running 5km under 35 minutes.

Yet, I was able to bring my time down from 38 to 36:30 minutes!

Whohoooo! Who said failing forward wasn’t the sweetest thing in the world?!????

That’s 1 minute and 30 seconds shaved off my time, and in running, that’s a huge difference!

The road had so many hills, I felt like I was dying — my legs were heavy, my mind kept saying, “Stop and walk!” People were passing me… I felt terrible!

Yet in those tough moments, something inside me knew that if I just kept going, moving my legs one after the other, I’d make it to the finish line.
