4 Modern Challenges With Classroom Trainings

For ages, classroom training has been the mechanism of delivering knowledge to employees in organizations. With advent for new technologies and changing dynamics new issues crop up. Today employee using web, social media, mobile platform is challenging the long held beliefs in classroom training.

1. The Need Now Factor:

Unforeseen learning needs emerge - and must be addressed with urgency. Time sensitivity in the digital enterprise is at odds with the time traditionally needed to analyze, design, develop and deliver a formal learning program. Today, the majority of learning needs are being identified and addressed at the edge of the enterprise in real time by autonomous learners.

2. It's A Wrong Package:

Every employee is time starved and unfortunately training is organized around topics rather than tasks. This creates and unnecessary overhead for the employee.

3. The Routinization Effect:

Classroom training are happening more ritualistic rather than with the goal to improve skill and overall performance of employee. Just because you know something does not mean you will be acting upon. Infact studies suggest 80% of investments in classroom training fails to create a behavioral change.

4. The "Value"

There is ever increasing pressure on employees to perform and bring in the value. Although this requires skill upgradation but seldom gets the required attention & importance. As Classroom training have time constraints it creates a tug of war for the employee.
