When it comes to getting testimonials, timing is everything!
If you're in the lawn mowing business, the best time to get the testimonial is when the home owner walks out to the front yard and sees his lawn immaculately manicured and enjoys that fantastic smell of freshly cut grass.
Likewise, if you’re a hairdresser, obviously the best time to get Mrs. Jones to talk glowingly about your service is when she’s just been through the metamorphosis of bland to grand!
I was at a restaurant in Melbourne not long ago with a group of people and the restaurant owner was clever enough to bring out his digital camera at the end of our fantastic meal and grab glowing testimonials from all of the ‘alcohol-induced’ happy diners!
The restaurant in question was the La Piazza Allegra, reportedly one of Melbourne’s finest Italian locations.

Let’s face it, if you don’t get the testimonial straight away, there’s no way that your client can possibly communicate the same level of enthusiasm or zest for your product or service.
In time, people forget what you did for them and all of those great feelings they had ‘on the day’ tend to blur in their mind.
So it’s absolutely critical to get your testimonial just after you’ve provided your wow factor service and when they’re still enjoying the experience.
Whatever you’ve done for them, it’s freshest in their minds just after the event.
