4 Mistakes That Lazy Marketing Managers Make
1. CEO's EGO
Lazy marketing managers launch expensive national poster advertising campaigns and book even pricier TV spots that most people don't watch, or never interact with, just to flatter their management's or CEO's ego: "Hey bosses, watch your TV tonight: we will be aired just before the Real Madrid - Manchester City football game."
This is way more flashy than optimizing tags on their website, improving their CPC campaigns or analyzing the competition.
2. OUTSOURCE
Lazy marketing managers outsource to web agencies what they should do on their own, with their team or various external consultants (each one specialized for one topic): CMS, CPC, hosting, analysis, content creation, UX, SEO, design, etc.
Web agencies usually know a little bit of every aspect of online marketing and IT, but they never understand one aspect fully. By outsourcing their work to an agency, lazy marketers have much more free time on their own, and they just have to wait for the agency's reports. Besides, they don't care to pay huge amounts of money for that — the money is not theirs.
3. BUDGET
Lazy marketing managers spend their budget without common sense for the above-mentioned outsourced activities, so next year's budget won't be reduced.
4. PARETO
They don't apply the Pareto principle. They don't do their homework.
THINGS ARE CHANGING:

3 measures that marketing managers should apply to save their as*es:
A. Stop throwing their employer's money out the window.
B. Be visible online where people spend most of their time: Facebook and Instagram.
C. Improve their SEO strategy: organic traffic is almost always the #1 visibility source of a company.
