Are you feeling like you could achieve more in life and your business...but aren't sure what the next step is?
You have a mental roadblock that prevents you from becoming who you want to be?
It's easy to improve your marketing, sales or offers as a consultant or business owner.
Your?mentality?is the key to your success.
You can improve your mentality just as you can your marketing and sales offers.
You will learn the psychology behind success and how to master your mind-set so that you can achieve the results in your business you desire.
How Microsoft Adopted the Psychology of Success
Microsoft is aware of the importance to change their mentality as a business.
Satya Nadella describes this change in his book?Hit refresh: The quest to rediscover Microsoft’s soul and imagine a better future for everyone.
During the Steve Balmer years, they believed that "we know what is best for our clients."
The fixed-mindset action is this.
Satya did not believe that this was a profitable or healthy mindset.?He wanted to adopt a?Growth?mentality.
They became "learner-it alls" instead of "know-it'alls."
Their actions changed.?They met more customers.?They went out and met with their customers more.
These practices have enhanced the creativity and value creation in companies.
Since Satya Nandella became CEO, Microsoft's value has been trending upwards. This is because Satya Nadella has shifted the company from an inward/fixed mindset to one of growth and outward thinking.
You'll get positive results if you adopt the same mentality in your consulting firm.
Why you must master your mindset
Here's what Ryan Gottfredson , a leadership researcher and consultant had to say...
Our mindsets are our mental lenses through which we view the world.?They influence and guide our ability to learn, think and act in the most effective way.
They are therefore the foundation of our success in life, work, and leadership.?If we improve our mindset, we will improve our work, leadership, and life ."
It is the foundation of who you are.?It influences how you learn, think and act.
It has a huge impact on your business.
Ryan talked about an interesting study that illustrates this idea.
Two different videos were shown to two groups of employees.
The first group watched a video about how stress is debilitating.?The second group watched a video about how stress is enabling.
Researchers tracked 2 groups for a few weeks.
First, those who were taught that stress is debilitating had lower levels of engagement, performance and blood pressure.
The second group, those who had learned that stress is enabling, showed higher levels of engagement, better performance and lower blood-pressure.?(SOURCE )
You will behave as if it were true if you simply think of stress as positive.?Or, vice-versa.
This study shows the true power of the mind.?You can achieve more success by changing your mind-set and thinking differently.
You can choose the level of success you want to achieve by mastering your mind and taking conscious steps to improve your mindset.

The Four Mindsets and How to Improve your Mind
Success is a result of four different mindsets.?The negative mindset is on the left, and the positive mindset is on the right.
Fixed vs growth Mindsets
When you don't think that you or anyone else can change, you have a fixed mindset.?You are practicing a "fixed mindset" if you do not believe you can change anything about yourself.
When you believe that you can improve your intelligence, abilities, or talents, you have a growth mindset.?A growth mindset is when you think you can grow and learn.
Closed vs open Mindsets
When you don't accept other ideas, that is a closed mindset.?Closed mindset is when you believe you are 100% correct about something.
Open-mindedness is being open to new ideas and taking them seriously.?Open-mindedness is when you are willing to listen to other people's opinions, even if they're experts.
Prevention vs Promotion Mindsets
When you focus on not losing, that is a prevention mindset.?You are practicing prevention mindset if you focus on "not losing" rather than trying to win.
When you have a promotion mindset, your focus is on winning and achieving the goals of both yourself and your group.?You are practicing a promotion mentality if you don't mind stepping out of your comfort zones to help you and your team achieve success.
Inward and Outward Mindsets
Inward thinking is when you see others as objects and show less empathy.?You're practicing an inner mindset if you are more focused on yourself and your challenges.
A person with an outward mindset values others as individuals and treats them like people.?You're practicing outward thinking if you are more focused on others' needs and challenges.
Collective Mindset Study - How Elite Consultants Compare
We sent Ryan's Mindset Assessment to a selected group of clients in order to understand how consultants think.
33% of the group strongly believed in "growth" but only 26% were strong believers in "fixed."
The rest of the group was in the middle.?This group is more interested in learning and growth than looking good around peers.
In terms of the Closed vs. Open Mindsets, 44% were slightly more open - they were evenly distributed.
Ryan suggests that you can improve your mindset by realizing you may be wrong and seeking the truth rather than being "right."
The vast majority (67%) of the group had a promotion mindset.
This was the best group Ryan has ever seen when it comes to seeking progress rather than avoiding problems.
The Inward and Outward Mindsets
This group is more likely to treat partners, customers, and employees as objects.
It is not uncommon for solopreneurs or small business owners to be centered around themselves.
You're focusing on results rather than people if you have a high promotion, but an inward-focused mindset.
You'll have more success if you concentrate on adding value for people.?This will produce the results you desire.
Which mindset do you currently have? Which would you like to have?
