You Can Create a supersized post and add pictures too!
Sometimes, just sometimes, have you ever wanted to share something on Facebook that was more than just a couple of lines and that has more than one image in it? Well you can by using Facebook ‘Note’. You don’t have to have your own blog to do this. How do I do this?
To enable the notes section in your profile:
- Go to your profile
- Hover over More below your cover photo and click Manage Sections
- Click Notes
Click Save
Here you will find notes from people you follow on Facebook. To add your own, click on the ‘+ Write a Note’ tab in the top right hand corner. This opens a new page. You can write as much as you like and add as many pictures as you like. You can add a cover picture too! When you’re done, just share it as you would a normal Facebook post. If you don’t have time to finish your Note in one sitting, you can save it and finish it later before publishing.
Save posts for later
Have you ever wanted to read a link that a friend shared on Facebook, but just didn’t have the time at that particular moment? Well Facebook have a ‘Save for Later’ function. To get to this function simply click on the little arrow in the top-right of any post, which enables a drop down menu. Click on the Save Link. This then sends the link to your Saved Folder. You won’t know you have a Saved Folder until you’ve actually saved something. After the first time you save something a little ‘Save’ ribbon will appear on your left hand favourites bar. Click on it and everything you have saved will appear. You can even save your friends videos here that your friends have posted.
Choose who controls your account after you die
Everyone on Facebook sadly at some point, will die. Facebook has created a way to name a legacy contact who will be able to manage your account after your death.
Your Legacy Contact will be able to write a pinned post for your profile, respond to any new friend requests or update your profile and cover picture. They will not have access to your messages unless you actually decide to give them access. Your Legacy Contact can even download a copy of all your Facebooking so if your account is closed there will still be a hard copy available of all your posts, photographs, videos etc. (see below)
To assign a Legacy Contact, go to Settings > Security > Legacy Contact tab and choose one of your Facebook friends to handle your Facebook posts. You will also be able to choose that your account is deleted after you die.
So you’re a legacy contact. How do you manage a memorialized profile on Facebook?
- Go to the memorialized profile
- In the bottom right of the cover photo, click Manage
- Use the menu on the left to do things like:
- Add a pinned post
- Respond to new friend requests
Change the profile picture and cover photo
Download a copy of all your Facebooking
Do you want your very own personal copy of everything you've ever shared on Facebook? Every post, every image, every video, every message and chat conversation? Well, you can do that!
Just go to Settings > General and click on the link "Download a copy of your Facebook data" at the bottom and follow the directions from there.
This feature lets you take a trip down memory lane, or just save your info should you ever decide to delete your Facebook account. This feature is probably most useful to those in the legal profession as it can capture your Facebooking at a particular moment.
There are, of course, others but we here at MarkNorthall.co.uk thought these were the most relevant.
