Sure, technology is part of legal innovation, but it’s only one aspect.

I like to think about innovation in law as an improvement - any improvement that makes something in the legal space work better than before. Fundamentally, it creates a positive impact on clients, lawyers, and society as a whole. It can be as simple as a process change, or a way we deliver information - it doesn’t have to be front-page news.

This week on Legal Design IRL I talked about legal innovation and the four key elements for success. As lawyers, we all know (even if we’re not willing to admit it) things need to change.

Even though the world seems super uncertain now, and it’s easy to avoid it and stay the same - it’s really the perfect time.
