4 Key Areas to Kick Start 2022

Can you believe we are already in the last quarter of the year??

I am curious...

  • How ready do you feel to smash 2022?
  • How clear are you on the key 6-12 month targets ahead for your teams to take action?
  • Do you know what areas you need to focus on to grow and scale effectively?

My suggestion, if you haven’t yet, set aside a few hours to map out and align on what goals you and your teams want to smash in the next 6-12 months. And specifically, what key successes do you want to celebrate by when?

Questions you might want to ask:

  • How do we want to be perceived in the market by our customers?
  • How many products/services do we want to have sold?
  • What are our big ass revenue targets we want to smash?

On the flip side:

  • What are the big rocks we need to move out of the way so that our teams can do their best work? And what are the things we need to add, shift or change, so our people can do their greatest work?
  • Where are you noticing things are Hard to get moving or done in your organisation, or what are the things that are draining you and your people??

From there, you might want to get specific about the key areas to hone in on to set your teams up for roaring success in 2022 and beyond.

Key Area 1: Our Economic Playing Field

How is what’s happening around us going to affect how we play our A-game (and what will we need to shift, change and adapt to keep playing our best) now and in the future??

It is important when it comes to our goals, to look at the economic playing field or landscape we are operating in. Specifically, at potential changes and shifts predicted to occur in the near or distant future.?

Some areas you may want to key a close eye on:

  • Market trends that could result in a change of demand or supply in the space we are playing in.?
  • Laws and legislations we could be impacted by - both positively or negatively.?

And of course, you want to ask: How can we make the most of that situation? Or what do we need to shift, change and adapt in order to keep playing our A-game now and in the future??

Key Area 2: Our Organisational Structure

How organised and structured are our teams, and are we acting with clarity & focus?

Your organisational structure is another key area you might want to look at if you want to kick start your goals.?

If we are setting some kick-ass goals for 2022 but our people don’t have clarity on their responsibilities & focus points to turn them into reality … What is the likelihood for us to achieve these?

I invite you to reflect on the following:

  • Teams, leaders and people. Are they thriving? Are they humming? Or do we have challenges there?
  • Do you feel like the teams and organisation is structured, or does it feel a bit chaotic?
  • Do your people have clear roles and responsibilities so they can stay focused on what counts, or is everybody doing everything?

Clarity, simplicity and achievability here are paramount.?

Key Area 3: Our Leadership/Guidance to our people

How can we lead and guide our people more effectively?

Leadership is another key area of focus if you want to create an optimal environment for your people to work towards and reach a common goal.?

How might we reflect on our leadership styles and effectiveness?

3x questions to get started:

  • What level and means of guidance do we have in place for our teams?
  • How are we leading our people to ensure they are moving in the right direction?
  • What changes can we make, or what can we dial-up to support our teams even more to do a great job?

Key Area 4: Our Finances

How and where are we investing to grow our organisation?

Is now the time to review your budgets and spending to ensure your money flows to create next-level growth?

Here are 3x questions that might help to get started:

  • How are we tracking against our budgets?
  • How effectively are we investing back into the organisation and team, to focus on growth and expansion?
  • How easy is it for us to monitor ROI on everything we put our money down for?

So in a nutshell, how are you rating these 4x areas on a scale from 1-10??

  1. Economic Playing Field
  2. Organisational Structure
  3. Leadership
  4. Finances

If it’s less than an 8.5 for one or more of the above, then you might want to get your leadership team together and get cracking to prepare for 2022 so you can break through your next glass ceiling and make the sky the limit.
