4 Important Health Habits

4 Important Health Habits

Among all the good habits you know you should have within you, I have come across 4 that are most vital for your health and well-being.  I’ve tried to make it a bit simpler to ingrain, lets hope it helps. Read on…

  1. Drinking 3 to 4 lts of water everyday: Yeah yeah, we all know this, but who said knowing and doing were even close to each other? So, I discovered a new way to make sure this habit becomes more doable. Buy 3 bottles of 1 lt each. Fill it every morning and keep it beside my work desk. This will eliminate the time you spend refilling the single bottle which you would otherwise use. It will also help you keep a tab of how much water you consumed till the end of the day. 60 days of this practice will literally ingrain this new habit in you. Don't just read and nod your head. Try it.
  2. Eating healthy: The sound of those words are not rare either, right? To put this into practice, buy small tiffins and fill them with dry fruits, sliced tomato, cucumber, carrot, fruits, etc. and placed them all around my workplace. My workplace is where I spend most of my time. In case you spend more time in the kitchen, then so be it. Every time you get bored or hungry and your hands reach out for some snacks, you will automatically pick up something healthy. Again, a month of this and your system will get so used to healthy snacking, that then even the look of a burger or chips would make you feel nauseous.
  3. One hour of exercise everyday: Oh goodness, this is the toughest of the lot. With gyms and classes all going online, the motivation to exercise is also low. But think about it. If you had to simply go down your building and climb all the floors twice or maybe thrice depending on your stamina there would be no need to dress up special, no need to go anywhere far…just that much would be enough, to begin with. Also, you could keep a dumbbell or a yoga mat close around the place you spend most of your time at. If you can see it next to you, the probabilities of you picking it up and working out during your 5 min breaks will be much higher.
  4. Practicing good sleeping habits : This is by far the most important phase of your daily routine. Your sleep is the keeper of your immunity. Good sleep, good growth, good immunity. The one simple thing to give you a good sleep could be … start winding up by 9 p.m. By the time you actually get to bed would perhaps be a couple of hours later, but starting to wind up around 9 p.m. every day will set the others in the house to a new routine. Cut out all gadgets by 10 p.m. Nothing in the world will stop, I promise, but cutting out your gadgets by 10 p.m. would definitely ensure, your health supports you long-on. Once these routines are in place the rest will follow without much effort. Try it.

Make good habits easy to follow. The more difficult they are, the more effort they need…the lesser likely you will be to follow them. These have worked very well for me, I hope it does for you too. Write to me and let me know…
