Hi Busy Programmers!
Welcome again :) It's been JUST 2 years since my last weekly OR monthly issue of this newsletter ?? I planned. So as you can see, everything's OK and according to my plan. Life goes on.
How are you doing?
Today it's just a short update. Wind of hope. Raise of the determination to finally align with the original mission of this community and "The Busy Programmer" idea. As I wrote in the original first post here (January 6, 2022 (!)):
"Expect tech and programming-related content here, visible from the perspective of ex-CTO, multiple DEVpreneur, originally .NET and full-stack programmer turned into a CxO / Manager who loves his daily job and constant growth."
I also realised it was even before I wrote my book about social media for developers... that WAS FINALLY PUBLISHED!!!oneoneone and you can still grab it from Gumtree here: https://thebusyprogrammersguidetosocialmedia.com/
But... it's not about the book today. It's about the new format. The new "me" in the web. Those who knows me, know that I was always a famewhore ("osoba z parciem na szk?o" sounds definitely better in Polish... :)).
I'd love to say that recent popularity of YouTubers, their great publicity, market potential etc. etc. made me to do this step.. but nah - it's the drama, probably. I followed all of the Mr Beast "issues", Polish YT dramas and I found a lot of joy constantly browsing the channels and consuming a lot of content myself. For me then, it's now the time to CREATE more and try to use this format to share my thoughts, maybe even some knowledge and experience ;) We'll see.
When we're moving to our new house, my aim was to have a "studio" room. The "basement" for recordings. The cave for YouTube dream. And when I had it I didn't have enough motivation (?) or focus/priority/need for it? Dunno. I just didn't do anything with it.
Last month, when we're at Beyond Code conference, I realised how much I have inside of me to share, confront and discuss with others. This conference pushed me to think more about not just consuming stuff, but actively creating and collaborating in it with others. I summarised my experience and thoughts from there on my profile here:

At the same conference, I had a pleasure to spend some more time with my old friend from studies, my first company and many other shared activities. True man of the talents - Maciej ?? Korsan ? We were travelling together, and when we're talking about the dreams, challenges, blockers and motivations... it turns out that all what I need to do something with YT is... a deadline. Without waiting for too long, Maciej set up a deadline for me to be on 20.10 (a month was a fair timeframe to record the first video, right?) and the time was ticking...
He was very politely chasing me whenever and wherever he could. Our Instagram DM feed was full of friendly reminders that the deadline is coming ;)
But it worked! I made initial steps, dedicated some of the time to record the initial video, pulled some strings to get the first guests aligned, refreshed my list of content ideas, created multiple notes and scenarios drafts for upcoming videos. And I couldn't stop thinking about it since then.
So now it's the time.
I'm not promising anything to anyone, myself included. It won't be regular, high-level, ideal upfront. But I'll do my best to get this stepping stone in the form of the video/YouTube channel from my day-to-day challenges as I truly want and believe that sharing knowledge and educating myself and others is my "mission" - however coachy it sounds.
All what you can do now is to go and find my channel on YouTube (it was there since August 18th 2020...), watch the initial/intro video and if you'd like to stay updated about the upcoming ones... LIKE, SUBSCRIBE and to all the other YouTube'y shit that can help it reach more like-minded, interested people. Here it is:
