Learnability is the key. ?Learnability is the ability and desire to grow and adapt one’s skill set to stay employable.?It is continuous and life long activity. ?
Today 100% of the organizations are in the process of upskilling their workforce.?Integrating upskilling and learnability are not just becoming important for organizations but also for individuals who are fast losing jobs to automation, Artificial intelligence, in the emerging scenario. ?
Let us try to understand why, what and how of learning in new digital age.?4-S of learning: Systemic, Skills, Strategy and Struggle.
Why Learn?
1.??Systemic: You learn with the objective of bringing systemic change. Learning means change. Change is brought about by acquiring new understanding, knowledge, skills, values, behavior and attitude.?Learning is sharpened and honed through repeated experiences. The whole objective of learning is staying relevant at all points of time in fast changing dynamic environment.
What to learn?
I believe going forward there will be two types of learning people will opt for skills based learning and strategy based learning.?In fact most of the future jobs will revolve around these two areas.
2.??Skills Sets will keep changing with the change technology. Both technical and professional skills people will have to hone after every few years to stay employable in this dynamic environment.?People will opt for specific skills based certificate course to become proficient and efficient at the workplace.?Demand for stem courses will increase.

3.??Strategy based learning: Your ability to develop analytical approach, sharpen your decision making abilities, decision rights, information flow aligning motivators and working on design and structure of the organization.??Strategy formulation and execution will require new perspective s, new scenario scanning and thereby adding new values periodically. ?Innovation, design thinking and growth will emerge from strategy based learning.
You will be required to continuously sharpen strategic perspective for acquiring controlling and executing knowledge to align with organizational goals and priorities. ?

Process of Learning?
4.??Struggle: Research shows that if you are not struggling you are not learning.?Strugglers are the fastest learners whether it is theatres, studying in foreign country, or in home country. ?When you are away from the home you have to fetch everything yourself right from arranging three meals to delivering presentation for your college studies that too with the limited budget available to you. You work part time in order to add more dollars or rupees in your kitty.
So you need to plan your time to execute all the assignments for yourself.??In the process you experiments with all sides of your life therefore your learning and approach to life undergoes a change.?
You learn to live by yourself and in the process confront all problems that encounter you on a day to day life from fetching water to sleeping?on the floor or any place that?is available.
Research also shows that learning is slower when all comforts are available to you.?You learn from both formal and informal environment. ?

3 年Very relevant points. Both #LearningAbility and #LearningAgility are very relevant these days. 1) 30 years research by Anders Ericsson on expertise development covers the importance of Deliberate Practice to master the skill. 2) Also research talks about #Myelin a substance which is found to cover neurons pathways which are practiced more and more 3) Top Leadership seems to also focus on #RemainingRelevant through their own ways like audiobooks and podcast to multiplex their learning time with other activities like travelling / exercise etc. 4) Mentoring and Coaching seems to need of the hour to nurture next level leadership. Reverse mentoring is also adopted by companies to create a channel with millenials 5) Many big corporates are interested in hiring talent from tier-2 cities where they primarily look for their self-motivation, ability to self-manage and self-learning capabilities. As you rightly said the "Learning Landscape" is also going through a major transformation.
