4 Fat-Loss Diet Myths For Time-Poor CEOs & Business-Owners -[PART 4/4]

4 Fat-Loss Diet Myths For Time-Poor CEOs & Business-Owners -[PART 4/4]

“You Must Cut Carbs And Do KETO to Shed Body-Fat”.

Do you like black coffee?...

Do you like butter?...

Well, blitz em both together and Bobs your uncle…

You’ll BULLETPROOF against FAT!

Alright I’m kidding, Ignore my lame sarcasm while I get to the point.?

Now, If you haven’t tried Keto, I bet you know someone who has…?

Because the first rule of Keto is to tell everyone that you’re on KETO!...

(Dang it sarcasm got me again… Ok no more jokes).

In all seriousness…

If you have tried keto, you probably stopped doing it after 1, 2 or 3 months (which is what 99% of people do).?

Why?

Because it's extremely hard to follow a Low-to-zero carb diet. Especially if you like to enjoy dinners with the family, lunches with your team or clients and celebrations that arise.?

The problem is,?

The popularity of the Keto diet has, somewhat, demonized carbs…

Because millions of men over 30 say:

  • “I get fat when i eat carbs”
  • “I only lose weight when I stop eating carbs”
  • “I lost 20 LBS or 10 kgs when I did keto”...

And without diving into the scientific evidence (which I’ll show you in a sec)It’s borderline brainwashing…

And it's easy to think that carbs are the enemy at the frontline, launching fat-missiles at your belly.

But it’s just-not-true. I’ll show you why… And I’ll also show you how you CAN get your lean body back, without depriving yourself of carbs to lose weight.

And the best way to do that… Is to show you science.?

Here’s an interesting study I prepared earlier…?

'Ketogenic low-carbohydrate diets have no metabolic advantage over nonketogenic low-carbohydrate diets'.

(study link here)

Here’s what you need to know…?

In this 6-week study, there were 2 groups:

  • The Ketogenic Low Carb (KLC) group = 60% fat and 5% carbs.

(High fat / low carb).

  • The Non-ketogenic Low Carb group = 30% fat and 40% carbs.?

(Moderate fat / moderate carb).

As a result, the researchers found that fat and weight loss did not vary significantly between the two groups…

And, they concluded that:?

“KLC and NLC diets were equally effective in reducing body weight and insulin resistance… but the KLC diet was associated with several adverse metabolic and emotional effects… The use of ketogenic diets for weight loss is not warranted.”

Wow… It’s relevant that they mentioned the emotional effects, because as most CEOs and Business men know, stress and emotions can trigger a habit to snack or eat more foods…

Which usually consists of carb related snacks or meals, to feel full and satisfied (because it hard to feel full eating pure fat foods, unless you eat A LOT of them, which is crazy high in calories).?

And they also made a bold claim about keto diets not being warranted for weight-loss...?

That doesn’t mean you should never ever do keto, but this study shows that even with a moderate level of carbs, you can still lose weight.

So, what does this mean for you?

Well, let's pretend for a sec that you were a client…?

If you told me that you enjoy eating balanced meals, including carbs… Or enjoying Pasta with the kids… Or the odd burger with your mates or business partners/clients… And the occasional wine or beer…

I’d say “no problem, mate!”...

Because by using basic nutritional accounting protocols, you can include a moderate amount of carbs in your diet, while maintaining a ‘metabolic deficit”...

Which means, you can get your body to burn ‘more’ fat, while still eating a moderate amount of carbs, without missing out on your favorite dinners or cheat meals.?

The simplest way to do that is to use the MyFitnessPal app (or online) and account for your nutrition.?

And, before we wrap up the 4 diet myths series, can I ask a huge favor?

Could you take 30 seconds to tell what was the most valuable thing you got from this or previous myth newsletters?

(It would mean a lot!).

Thank you for being a loyal subscriber, you're wanted and appreciated.

P.s.

If the scale isn’t dropping, and you’re at a loss for what diet or program to do next…

Well, as you know by now, carbs isn’t the problem…. However you’re likely not in ‘metabolic deficit’, which is why you’re not burning off more body-fat (and weight).?

So, when you shift your body into a fat-burning state, you’ll start to see the scale drop, your clothes will get looser and your muscle definition will gradually reveal itself.

This is exactly what my clients and I do inside my 1on1 coaching program (The Metabolic Recomp Method).
