4 Easy Home Renovation Projects to Zhuzh Your Space Up This Spring

Renovating a home doesn't have to be all or nothing. While some home renovation projects seem daunting (how often have you squelched that desire to replace your tile floor with hardwood because it requires you to move ALL your furniture, amiright?), there are many home renovation projects that can have a tremendous impact on the overall vibe of your home, while limiting the disruptiveness to your life.
Are you looking to spruce up your home by making simple changes? Below are 5 easy ways to Zhuzh your house up this Spring while keeping your bank account, sanity, and marriage in tact.
1. Up The Ante On Your Curb Appeal
65% of buyers in 2018 reported curb appeal was the number one reason they decided to pursue their eventual home for a showing. [NAR stat]
The exterior of your home & your entrance sets the tone for the rest of your home, so why not make it grand? They don't call it a petit entrance, after all.
Repainting your door with a rich, bold color can make your home pop off the pavement. Looking for something with a little less commitment? Refresh your welcome mat with something seasonal, freshen up your mulch, and add some potted pops of color to your hedges.
Nothing screams "Spring has sprung!" like a leafy spring wreath highlighting the season. We love lemon-themed wreaths right now (duh) but anything leafy and green will give the immediate impression of freshness.
Impress your guests from first sight and give your home that cheery, fresh spring-y feeling from the moment you step foot onto your property.
2. Light It Up
One of my favorite things to do when we take on a slightly outdated listing is swap out a few key light fixtures for fresh lighting. Adding something modern, vibe-y, or a statement piece to a key area of your home can completely refresh the look and feel of a home.
Change the entire look and feel of a room by adding some cool pendants, modern sconces, or a massive drop chandy if you're feeling freaky.
3. Give Your Kitchen New Life
Do you have an old kitchen faucet or an outdated sink in your kitchen? Consider updating it! How about the pulls on your cabinets? Are they from the '80's or '90's? Updating hardware can be a very easy thing to do and can have an immediate impact on the design of your space.
Upgrading your faucet or sink is easy to do! Find one you like at a hardware store -- buy it -- call us -- and we'll have it installed for you! Simple and inexpensive, and it can make a big difference!
For hardware, we are in love with brass & gold accents at the moment, but chrome and silver are still in the game. Matte black pulls and hardware are a great twist on the timeless aged bronze, too.
If you have a modern or contemporary kitchen, opt for a sleek, elongated pull for clean lines. If you have an antique look or intricately designed cabinetry, opt for knobs or unique choices.
Installing a vanity or sink can help you achieve the look you're going for and solve any storage problems you may have.
4. When In Doubt, Crown[Mold] It Out
An easy way to make a space instantly more elegant and luxurious is to add quality molding, paneling, and some texture to your walls. No, we aren't talking about orange peel knockdown. We mean classic good ole fashioned carpentry work.
The addition of crown molding can be very inexpensive and low footprint in terms of pain-in-the-rear, and will update your home without making too big of a change.
Thinking about getting freaky with some wood? Wainscot and chair rail can take a space to the next level of elegance while not breaking the bank.
There you have it -- Let the Spring Cleaning & Zhuzh'ing begin! We hope you found these four tips and tricks useful & insightful.
