:-) I know you are smiling too just thinking about this
I am sure this has been discussed at length many at times and am sure quite a few organizations and professionals are already following this. But it really struck me during the Labor Day long weekend again on the benefits of having a 4 day work week.
I was feeling energized, accomplished a lot of tasks during the break and more importantly felt I was in control of all aspects of my life yet again. I felt that I was able to balance life-work-friends-hobby-family-recreation-learning- and practically everything because of having 3 days off (4 day work week)
Also, what really sparked this blog is my conversation with a call center executive and while we were in the call, she was enquiring rather casually about the long weekend. Suddenly, we were speaking about how someone needs to pass a work-legislation on making it a 4 day work week.
I am sure everyone understands the benefits and as is with everything else, I am sure there are pitfalls as well.
Employee motivation, may be more employment because you need more people to cover the 7 days work week and more so with so much of automation, AI etc expected to replace jobs. Also, having 3 days to myself makes me a better learner...was able to finally go back to some of the courses in new tech that was in my back burner. Oh...am already drooling at the benefits. Enough said...
I am curious to know if any of my network leaders are already practicing this and their own experiences with having a 4 day work week implemented. Please do post your comments and hopefully this will spark a new impetus for more and more organization/professionals to join this 'New 4 day Workweek Program'.
Thanks for reading my blog.
