Trends. There are countless articles out there about trends for 2024. This is not one of those articles.
Instead, this article features a list of challenges to consider implementing in 2024. These are ideas we are implementing in our client programs and we want you to steal them. Make them your own. Grab one or all of them and add them to your plan for 2024.?
- Sustainability. In 2024, we are going beyond no printed agendas and biodegradable plates. Every event we produce in 2024 will have measurable sustainability goals that we will track and report on throughout the year. Everything will be documented. Food waste, swag production, signage, power usage. How can you improve the sustainability of your event programs??
- Personalization. Curating custom experiences for event attendees will be a lot easier using data insights and AI. We’ll be able to tailor experiences for individuals and give every attendee the power to create their schedules for every event program. This will help ensure each attendee maximizes their time at the event - whether in sessions or meeting with other attendees. We’ll also be able to recommend suggestions and attendees they should meet - transforming the event experiences into a dynamic and personalized space.
- Wellness Options. This isn’t necessarily a new idea, but we are changing how wellness is incorporated into our client’s 2024 event programs. Wellness will now have a front-and-center place on the agenda. For example, start the day with a “pick your workout” option and feature a run/walk or a yoga class. In addition to morning workouts, we are being intentional about setting up places where attendees can disconnect from the noise and have quiet moments to reset. Attendees will be more energetic and focused and (hopefully) feel less stressed.
- Micro-Events. It can be intimidating to meet new people in a large event setting. Over the past year or so, we have experimented with smaller, niche-focused, micro-events for our clients and they are gaining momentum. These tailored gatherings allow our clients to foster a deeper sense of community and provide attendees with a more targeted and meaningful experience. A few micro-events we hosted this year include a Chef’s Table Experience for 12 people, an internal team hackathon for 50 people, and a hosted suite experience at a sporting event for 30 people.
What new ideas are you adding to your event programs in 2024?

1 年We held a suite experience on 2 different nights at a conference last November as an experiment. We expected 100 and got 140+ each night RSVP’d. The word of mouth and business connections generated were amazing. The key is making the theme a unique experience that is relevant to the conference subject vs. just hosting a Happy Hour alone.
