3rd Time’s the Charm: Our Journey to CRM Success

CRM Overhaul: The 5-Year Struggle

Replacing our old CRM and project management system has been a tough nut to crack—this is our third attempt in five years. But this time, we’re determined to get it right. That’s why we brought in a 3rd-party consulting firm to help us implement HubSpot CRM, hoping to finally glean the best practices we need, tailored to our industry and the specific solution we’re rolling out.

Burning Cash and Learning Fast

Bringing in consultants isn’t cheap, but we knew we needed their expertise to untangle our complex web of business processes. We’re burning money on their team, but the insights we’re gaining are priceless. They’re helping us map out our operations, sales activities, and how all of this ties into our new CRM system.

Data, Data, Everywhere—But Not Where We Need It

Our first major pain point? Data. We’ve got it scattered all over the place—in our old CRM system, our current QuickBooks accounting system, our email marketing database, and a mountain of spreadsheets. Not all of it is complete, and figuring out how to bring it all together has been a real headache.

The Data Hygiene Dilemma

The second big issue is “data hygiene.” In today’s world, where people are constantly moving between companies, keeping track of our main points of contact has become a near-impossible task. Outdated or incomplete data has been a real drag on our ability to maintain strong relationships and keep our Flywheel spinning.

The Path Forward: Integration and Expansion

The silver lining? We’re confident that with the right system and configuration, HubSpot CRM will help us clean up our act. By bringing our operations and sales activities together under one roof, we’re setting ourselves up to fully implement the land and expand portion of the Flywheel methodology. It’s been a rocky road, but we’re finally on the path to a more efficient, data-driven future.
