3rd in the Best Sommelier of the Americas Competition
For the past week, I was surrounded by all these wine professionals from around the world and was so honored and inspired to see all this energy deployed to shine on the profession of sommelier and especially that it happened here, at home. The first position would have been welcomed for any candidates but is greatly deserved by Pier-Alexis Soulière. What I will keep from this competition is to live the experience of preparation, the training, the study, the support from colleagues and by above all, meeting people just as passionate about sommellerie.
I would especially like to thank my fiance Mylène Poisson for her time and precious presence throughout the preparation; my employer, Christine Lamarche and Normand Laprise, from Toqué! for their latitude and for all the tools they have made available to me; my great friends Jean-Fran?ois Glockseisen and Geneviève Dagenais for all the time they offered to make my life easier in many ways; my family and my in-laws for their unconditional support. I would also like to thank the entire brigade of Toqué !, élyse Lambert, Véronique Rivest and the Soif team, Hugo Duchesne and the team from the Quebec Tourism and Hotel Institute, as well as the Bistro Coureur des Bois, the Maison Boulud, the ARQ, Steve Robinson from the Atelier, the SAQ Signature Maisonneuve staff, Fran?ois Fontaine and all the import agencies who knew how to understand my silence in recent months . Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
