Respectful when you talk with a Master Jedi be. Hrmmm.
Cold calling is a sales technique that involves contacting potential customers who have not expressed prior interest in your product or service. It can be a challenging way to generate leads, but it can also be very effective when done correctly.
There are many different ways to approach cold calling, but there are a few golden rules (we call it the "3P") that all successful cold callers follow. These rules are designed to help you maximize your chances of success and minimize the number of times you're hung up on.
Rule 1: Be prepared
The first golden rule of cold calling is to be prepared. This means doing your research on the prospect and their company before you call. Don't do that, and you'll fail (no way to succeed). You should have a clear understanding of what they do, what their needs are, and how your product or service can benefit them...otherwise they will end the call in less than 10 seconds.
It's also important to have a script for your call! This will help you stay on track and deliver your message effectively, even if it's important to be flexible and able to adapt to the conversation according to the situation. If the prospect asks a question that you didn't anticipate, be prepared to answer it honestly and thoughtfully.
Rule 2: Be polite
Remember that you are interrupting the prospect's day. Be polite and professional, and be respectful of their time. Don't overstay your welcome, and don't be pushy.

If the prospect is not interested in what you have to offer, don't take it personally. Simply thank them for their time and move on (these are not failures, simply it's a thing that in cold calling happens...).
Rule 3: Be persistent
Don't be discouraged if you don't get a yes on the first call. Most prospects need to be nurtured before they're ready to buy. Follow up with the prospect multiple times, but don't be annoying about it.
Be patient and persistent, and eventually you'll start to see results (in the meanwhile, don't forget to follow the prospects on social media and try to understand a bit more about their news, their challenges, their goals...al great info for your next try).
Cold calling can be a daunting task, but it's an essential skill for any salesperson. By following the three golden rules of cold calling, you can increase your chances of success and generate more leads for your business.
Here are some additional tips for success with cold calling:
The more you will try, the more you will become a more effective cold caller and generate more sales for your business.
