3Es EXPERIENCE IMPACT ON SPORTS IN RURAL SCHOOLS IN KENYA.

With the popularity football has among primary school children, pupils from Nembuya, Entaretoi and Samuli Primary Schools IN Kajiado were ecstatic to receive the new balls provided by 3Es Experience. Most of the schools either used old balls that did not hold pressure, or? balls made of cloth and polythene bags wrapped together, a situation which didn’t do much to encourage the children to play football, especially girls, who found playing with the balls too rough.

Each school received three balls and even though the upper classes wanted to each keep a ball for themselves, with the help of their teachers, these pupils will be able to have different teams playing and practicing for their ball games competitions, and even have an extra ball in case one of the other two is not pumped or available.

During our visit, we took time to play with the children, and very often, the mention of the World Cup came up, with everyone looking forward to the competition set to be held in Qatar. These pupils have dreams, not only to win local games, but to also represent our country in similar competitions and we are happy that 3Es Experience has opened the door for that long journey ahead, both for boys and the girls who were timid at first to run around in the field with the rest of the school.

Football is important for the balance in their school work, as it acts as a break and entertainment from the long hours of classwork and learning. Through the exercise, these pupils will be able to grow and maintain their fitness, which goes a long way to also preserve their mental and physical health.

The balls are just a start in their sports but we look forward to providing more resources for them such as uniforms, first aid kits and even balls for other games.
