3DX: New digital control BARLED

During products optimization we are frequently asked whether “the actuators are moving, whether the ring is deforming or in which direction it is moving”.

In fact, during ovalisation, the ring does not make very noticeable movements on the Parison, even though it is correctly performing its material redistribution following the profile settings.

This is why we have decided to install on all our actuators, both electric actuators with servo motor and hydraulic actuators with servo valve, a new BARLED display which, following the movement of the actuators, allows the intensity and direction of deformation of the ring to be seen immediately.

In fact, thanks to the LED display, which is connected directly to the ring, it becomes easy to understand what type of deformation the ring is performing.

The central position of “non-deformed ring”, is indicated by a yellow LED, while during the “pushing” movement a line of green LEDs lights up, during the “pulling” one the LEDs turn red.

The new LED display is also very useful to understand if the 3DX system is working correctly or if there are anomalies, reducing the risk of production defects, wasted time and material.
