Hexagon acquires 3D Systems’ Geomagic suite
3D Systems Corporation has sold its Geomagic suite of software packages to 海克斯康 for $123M. The suite includes Design X, Control X, Freedom and Wrap, and is capable of automating the processing of 3D scan data to build digital models from physical objects, which can then be used to generate history based parametric CAD models for use in product manufacturing.
GEOMAGIC GmbH software tools can also be used to undertake initial free-form design, modify existing CAD models and to measure and inspect parts for quality control purposes when finished.
ArcelorMittal selects Stratasys for R&D
Steel manufacturer 安赛乐米塔尔集团 has expanded its use of 3D printing by adopting the Stratasys F370 3D printer at its research centre based in Maizières-lès-Metz, France.
According to Stratasys, the system will enable ArcelorMittal’s researchers to create complex tooling, jigs, fixtures and functional prototypes with reduced lead times and enhanced design flexibility. Moreover, with the ability to run the printer overnight, ArcelorMittal’s R&D department can now test and validate components faster than ever before.
