3d-printing directly with flakes

The ADE30f is our 30mm flake extruder.

The ADE30f is an extruder that has been developed to print flakes rather than pellets/granules. This means it can directly print with shredded plastics, opening up a whole new world of possibilities. Starting a totally recycled and circular process, for example, by printing using shredded PET bottles (click here to see). Another option is to create new items from shredded consumer waste plastic. As you can see, the recycling possibilities with this technology are enormous, and may potentially be world changing?

The extruder has a maximum output of 8 kg/h and an average output of 4.5 kg/h.

This extruder is available in two models: the ADE30f and the ADE30fh. The only difference between the two is that the fh is installed horizontally next to the additive manufacturing machine, whilst the f model is attached directly to the robot's flange. The h type can only achieve a temperature of 250°C since the material must be delivered to the nozzle on the robotic arm via a hotmelt hose, whereas the non h variation can reach a temperature of 300°C.

Very nice! How is the extrusion consistency out of the extruder with varying flake sizes?
