38% of respondents suffer from inflation "quite a lot"

A recent survey conducted by Bilendi & respondi has shown that rising prices are having a significant impact on consumers in the Nordic region. The survey, which polled 4,000 individuals across Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, found that 38% of respondents said they suffer from inflation "quite a lot" when it comes to the cost of food. Additionally, 30% said they suffer from inflation "quite a lot" when it comes to the cost of gasoline/diesel, and 30% said the same for electricity.?

Nordic countries are feeling the squeeze of increasing costs, particularly in terms of living expenses and food prices. According to the survey, the most impacted countries are Finland and Sweden, where the rising cost of food has hit consumers the hardest.

While people in Denmark and Sweden are less affected by the cost of electricity than last year, Finland stands out as the exception, where 21% of respondents report suffering significantly from the increased cost of electricity. However, the cost of fuel seems to have peaked last year, and the impact of the cost of fuel on consumers' economies has decreased significantly in all Nordic countries.

The increasing cost of living, including mortgage/rent, has had a bigger impact on average in all Nordic countries this year. Danes felt the least impact, but even for them, the increased cost of living has impacted their consumption.

Despite the challenges, people in the Nordic countries are generally optimistic about the state of their domestic economies. However, Swedes are the only ones that have increased negative feelings about the state of their economy compared to last year. Especially the Danes are feeling more optimistic about the Danish economy than they were last year. The Danes are also the only nation who are thinking of travelling significantly more abroad for holidays in the next 12 months than they were in last year’s survey.

These survey results provide insight into the current economic and social situation in the Nordic countries. Journalists and researchers interested in exploring these topics further may find these results a valuable starting point for further investigation.
