3/7 : Focus on qualitative supplier !

To satisfy a customer, you need to deliver correct product. At least something good enough to fit their requirements. When you buy a very expensive red car, you will not be happy to see color deviation or scratches, will you?

It is normal to expect a perfect match between the paid price and the product you are receiving. This is the root of satisfaction, the customer's satisfaction.

Every supplier should know it, problems never occur when customers are happy and satisfied. Actually, it is quite normal to deliver a similar product to the expectation of the buyer. Just never forgot it, even when you have your own problem.

Not everybody likes surprises! ?? ??

Yes, as a customer, you should not be worry about your supplier regarding services or materials you buy. Easy to say but you know as well that in industry, when something not plan happen, it is mainly for issue and problem. Rarely for discount or free product.

You have huge amount of example where trust disappears with the first order : wrong product, too late, bad packaging, … You just don’t like such surprises because you know it is negative for your business and the impact it will have.


Request the best

For your own business and the success of it, you need yourself to be protected and sure. Secure what you will work with. Of course, you can’t build house on defective basement. Then you need to request the best basement ever for your business.

I am not speaking about what you can do yourself (your factory, your management…), I am speaking about what you buy and what you need to require from other. For some things, you are dependent of other and I am speaking of it. The raw material you will transform, the packaging you will use, the tool to cut your labelling…

Be sure of what you buy and receive. You need to add value to work with perfect product. This is the only way to be sure that your added value will be recognize and not useless.

Choice your supplier

To keep your spirit clear and focus on your own business, you need to trust your supplier. It is impossible to start a business if you are continuously thinking of potential issue you can have on your raw material.

Avoid to be Damoclès by adding pressure to your work. Remove the sword above you.

Of course, it is not easy. Purchase is a department where you need to find trustable partners. You can not pickup the first one from a website or just look the price if you want to build a strong and respectful brand. Never forget you want to be better than your competition. This department need time and adjustment before correct result.

It is normal to be stressed, especially if you do not find the perfect supplier. Sometimes, people even do a big mistake because they have no choice : they select the wrong supplier. They will use bad partner with bad quality because they have no other choice. They will add bad quality to their business and they are agree with that but remember : if you are not satisfied, find alternatives.

Unfortunately, in this world nobody is perfect. When you work with other or in your own life, time to time you will have issues. You will have to deal with problems or unexpected situation. No matter if we are talking about human mistake, acceptable damages but you will have to face issue and deal with it.


Deal with it boy

Don’t worry, you will have issue and you will survive. Your business can be stronger and respectful, you just need to react well. Quality issues occur even for the best and it is not a fatality. Actually, better you are and more issues you will find, that’s totally normal to find defect. It means you are critical enough to see and to reject poor quality.

The most important is the reaction you will have in front of defective product. Action need to be taken but if you see it, you already did a lot. Now, you will have to compare the situation with your own internal acceptance policy. Is it something you can work with? Is it something that will affect my final product? My customer will notice it and be unsatisfied?

You are the only one to decide if you can move forward without doing nothing or if you need to take actions and discuss with your supplier. The goal is still to improve the world and every single step are important.
