? "I want to make the world a safer place" vs "I want to stop bad things happening"

No alt text provided for this image

83% resonate more with "making the world a safer place" rather than "stopping bad things from happening".

If we consider most content published around safety, though, aren't we focussing on the "negative" not the "positive"? Perhaps editors are not aligned to their audience after all?

? Are you most concerned about high frequency & lower harm vs low frequency and higher harm?

No alt text provided for this image

A slight majority have more concern for higher risk and lower frequency, overall.

This score will vary by industry: high hazard sectors are much more prone to caring about low frequency and high risk due to the nature of their work.

? How satisfied are you with your career as a safety professional?

Overall, most safety professionals score their career satisfaction at 7 or higher.

It would be interesting to understand where the lower scores are coming from...

? How close are you to achieving the safety culture you desire?

No alt text provided for this image

Only 2% of respondents feel their safety culture is "done" with 81% stating there is still work to do.

I wonder: do we have a definition challenge here? Do we know what excellent safety culture looks like? Is our definition of safety culture achievable?

I love that only 2% consider their safety culture as "done". It highlights the constant evolution and the never-ending pursuit for perfection in our field.

It's encouraging to note the high career satisfaction among safety professionals. We definitely need to explore the reasons behind the lower scores though. That information could be crucial in making this field even more fulfilling.

Not surprised to see that most safety professionals align with the idea of making the world a safer place. It's a testament to the positive, proactive nature of our industry.

With most professionals scoring their career satisfaction 7 or higher, it's clear we're in an industry filled with passion and dedication. However, we shouldn't overlook those lower scores - they offer valuable insights for improvements.
