#35 - Positivity bias
POSITIVITY BIAS
One of the best cognitive "hacks" an entrepreneur can crack with oneself for a long-lasting startup marathon is replacing that very natural "negativity bias" that's already wired in us with a refreshing "positivity bias."
Tested & approved & recommended. ??
OVER-DELIVER
This message below is one of the many perks of continuously over-delivering for years with?Prisync | Dynamic Pricing . ??
NOTE TO SELF
Prioritize the communication with clients willing to pay you a few hundred/thousand dollars to get your software/service over companies/PEs willing to pay you millions to get your company.
That'd improve the likelihood & the expected outcome of the latter at the right time. ??
E-COMMERCE TECH STACK IS CHANGING - FOR GOOD
I started to observe a silent yet significant trend in?#ecommerce ?tech & more importantly, a change of perspective in how merchants see that area - observe, prioritize, budget & execute.
The heavy focus on consumer-facing e-commerce tech (dominantly?#MarTech ) - i.e., natural negligence of product-centric or operation-centric, or supply chain-centric tech - is re-balancing towards the latter. And it's not a bad thing - it does not necessarily mean ignoring the customers & just focusing on the product/operations. It's just stopping to overlook the latter.
I don't know if anyone out there has already called this before or even built/called an alliance of such tech vendors - I will soon.
Such a hypothetical alliance would undoubtedly cover the major e-commerce areas below:
#Inventory ?optimization - my fav vendors in this space:?Inventory Planner by Sage ,?Linnworks ,?Cogsy ,?Fabrikat?r

#Pricing ?- my fav vendor in this space:?Prisync | Dynamic Pricing ,?Pricefx
#PIM ?- my fav vendors in this space:?Akeneo: The Product Experience Company ,?Pimberly
#Merchandising ?automation:?Segmentify ,?Nosto ,?SALESmanago
Feed/channel management:?Channable ,?Feedoptimise
Part of our broader vision for Prisync this year & the next is to integrate with such adjacent tech areas to deliver even more value via?#pricing ?optimization.
If you're among those companies above or if you're in those fields yet we never came across before - let's do it soon.

MANCHESTER
All my visits to Manchester, UK, resulted in a new UK-based online liquor shop getting onboarded at?Prisync | Dynamic Pricing . I am talking with a relatively small sample size of 3 visits, but again, it's encouraging. Yet, it was not what brought me to Manchester last week. It was the "Ecommerce Week 2023" run by?Manchester Digital .
I enjoyed all the sessions but my 3 favorite presentations/sessions from the event were:
1- "How To Beat Google And Your Competition" by?James Maxfield ?&?Dave Karellen ?of?Dark Horse ?- every single bit of your talk made sense, guys. I look fwd to having a chat in the next few days to see how we could join forces for?#PPC ?success with some?#pricing ?optimization.
2- A MACH-driven Omni-channel Platform by?Andy Todman ?of?Pets at Home ?- by far, the clearest & the most to-the-point MACH presentation I've listened to so far. I bet the engineer touch there really helped it. All event organizers of?#ecommerce ?&?#marketing ?events, please give engineers more space in your slots - Andy's presentation really made me think/say that.
3- Panellist Discussion: Optimising Online Retail - a great panel hosted by?Christopher Maguire ?with his guests?Deirdre Mc Gettrick ?&?Rebecca Worsley ?&?Adam Pritchard ?- it was a very fast-paced & informative chat on all things?#ecommerce , really.
I'll definitely be back in Manchester, probably for new online liquor shops but also for some other great content by?Manchester Digital ?- thx,?Kate Wilson ?&?Myles Hamilton , for the hospitality; see you next time.
Thanks for reading this all - see you at the next one! :)
