3.3 Edition What I Did Last Week (and what I'm looking forward to)

When I think back to my 36 hours with a client in Barcelona, the most powerful moment was a private tour of the oldest hospital in the city.

The rich benefactors of Barcelona had so much money, they had the luxury of being thoughtful about the design.

The building featured sky lights and floor-to-ceiling windows so patients could soak up the sun and healing vitamin D. The hospital grounds featured a garden so patients could connect with nature daily and recover faster. Every turret and wall featured exquisite mosaic tile, sculptures, stained glass.? Water ran beneath the surface of the floor tiles to heat underfoot.?

The hospital was a rich sensory experience that took the focus off pain and suffering.?

The founders were so?very intentional about environment design.

I walked away thinking about the power of environment for my client.

Why had I brought HER to Barcelona?

  • Traveling to a foreign country created "mental white space" that wasn't there before.
  • Traveling created "calendar white space" needed for us to?do the brand of strategic thinking we were doing.
  • And my clients always transform?on these 36 hour immersions.

Mostly in relation to themselves.

Rather rarely and unusually, this April though, I am heading West.

I’m hosting my first Strategic Solitude Day in Las Vegas.

This is open to 1 client only April 6, 7, 8th, 2024.

This is what we will be doing:

  • We will hear the roar of the helicopter as we tour the Grand Canyon by air
  • We will smell the oils at the Spa at Aria
  • We will lunch over gnocchi and winter vegetables at Bouchon in the Venetian.
  • We will workshop our storytelling strategy while strolling the Ethel M Cactus Garden, featuring?succulents native to the Mojave Desert.

Three things we will work on

  • How to craft stories that bring a room to its knees (even if nobody knows you)
  • What are people already saying about your brand
  • What is “ONE thing” that is your brand (I'm telling you, its in your life history)

So- Calling all my Washington, Oregonian, Californian, folks.

The issue isn’t “convincing” yourself that you deserve the trip and the quiet—it’s taking action towards the "next level" of you.

You SAY you want your next level you, but you’re not acting in alignment with who that person is.

So how serious are you?

Because it’s easier to be complacent with your life and complain about not having what you want, than it is to put on your big girl pants and do what you need to in order to actually get it.

You don’t have a worthiness problem, you have a COMFORT problem

You’re comfortable with your life and you’re MORE comfortable complaining about why that "next level' is eluding you, than facing yourself (and probably some bad habits) and stepping into the uncomfortable space of vulnerability and aligned action.

My job is to support you in making your "next level" a reality

That’s why I crafted this VIP Day that both calls you out AND CALLS YOU UP to take action to get the next level you are seeking

  • Or the job
  • Or the business
  • Or the clients

I've used the EXACT process to build a mid six figure business, get high value clients, and I’m making this VIP DAY accessible to you.

Fill out this form and let's chat!

What I did last week

Saturday. I have spent the last 2 Saturdays not leaving bed or couch and as a result, bore witness to some of the most beautiful film and tv I think I have witnessed in my entire life.

Back in 2011, Pixar storyboard artist Emma Coats shared their "22 Rules For Storytelling." Rule #10: Pull apart the stories you like. What you like in them is a part of you.

Monday. I did a 30-for 30 exchange with Jennie Haire, co founder of GIGI Supplements in Ireland. This is where a woman leader shares her public speaking challenges for 30 minutes. She asks me any question she wants for 30 minutes. Video clip.

Wednesday. A VIP day with my own coach Leah, strategizing about my business all day. It culminated in lunch at Bad Roman in Columbus Circle and a spa visit at the Lotte Palace, overlooking St. Patricks Cathedral. I'm so lucky I get to live this life.

What I’m looking forward to

Friday Ringing the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange, with Sakhi, a non profit, which supports South Asian survivors of domestic violence.

  • I’ve supported this cause for years. I'm a product of a home with this dynamic. I'm excited for this new milestone and the upcoming gala April 26th.
  • Because I've broadcast from the NYSE floor for most of my career, I’ve sat underneath that dam* bell. It was so LOUD. Now I get to be there for a different occasion.

Saturday Opera! Madame Butterfly at the Met. Did you know that the composer of this opera wrote it no less than 5 times?

Thursday. The 3rd Annual Women's History Month Summit. I'm excited to hear Beatrice Dixon, Co-Founder & CEO, The Honey Pot Company. I use her pads. Deepa Gandhi, Co-Founder & COO, Dagne Dover. I own the brand's backpack, made from 29 recycled bottles.

Moab. April.
