32 Powerful Quotes to Get Inspired this Weekend

Happy Friday! The weekend is quickly approaching and it is a great opportunity to clear our minds, and take the time to reflect and meditate. I have found that very often we have great thoughts and ideas, ready to be expressed, just at the tip of our tongues, but they don't come out!

There’s always the need for a little push, a little extra inspiration to let those ideas flow. Sometimes it is music, a walk, hike or run in the woods, practicing mindfulness, or simply reading some quotes. That is why I put together this list of 32 quotes. With the purpose of inspire us to creatively and effectively use this weekend to get inspired, motivated and creative.

On Creativity

  • “I never made one of my discoveries through the process of rational thinking” Albert Einstein
  • “To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it.” Osho
  • “Others have seen what is and asked why. I have seen what could be and asked why not. ” Pablo Picasso
  • “Go into yourself. Find out the reason that commands you to write; see whether it has spread its roots into the very depths of your heart; confess to yourself whether you would have to die if you were forbidden to write.” Rainer Maria Rilke
  • “There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost.” Martha Graham
  • “If you're not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come up with anything original.” Ken Robinson
  • “You have to be burning with an idea, or a problem, or a wrong that you want to right. If you're not passionate enough from the start, you'll never stick it out.” Steve Jobs
  • “Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.” Albert Einstein

On Failure

  • “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” Winston S. Churchill
  • “There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.” Paulo Coelho
  • “Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor.” Truman Capote
  • “The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.” Randy Pausch
  • “You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.” Maya Angelou

  • “Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat.” Scott Fitzgerald

On Success

  • “Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value.” Albert Einstein
  • “Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.” Winston S. Churchill
  • “I'm a success today because I had a friend who believed in me and I didn't have the heart to let him down.” Abraham Lincoln

  • “Kites rise highest against the wind, not with it.” Winston S. Churchill
  • “Don't aim at success. The more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. For success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue, and it only does so as the unintended side effect of one's personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself or as the by-product of one's surrender to a person other than oneself. Happiness must happen, and the same holds for success: you have to let it happen by not caring about it. I want you to listen to what your conscience commands you to do and go on to carry it out to the best of your knowledge. Then you will live to see that in the long-run—in the long-run, I say!—success will follow you precisely because you had forgotten to think about it” Viktor E. Frankl
  • “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” Napoleon Hill
  • “Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.” Dalai Lama XIV

  • “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” Mahatma Gandhi
  • “Sanity and happiness are an impossible combination.” Mark Twain
  • “Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.” Mother Teresa
  • “Happiness quite unshared can scarcely be called happiness; it has no taste.” Charlotte Bront?
  • “Those who are not looking for happiness are the most likely to find it, because those who are searching forget that the surest way to be happy is to seek happiness for others.” Martin Luther King Jr.
  • “True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The greatest blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he has not.” Seneca
  • “Children are happy because they don't have a file in their minds called "All the Things That Could Go Wrong.” Marianne Williamson
