300 Workouts in 341 days.

300 Workouts in 341 days.

I set a goal of hitting 300 workouts in 2020 and earlier this week, I hit my goal.

Why? ??

I have always been consistent with my fitness but have struggled to maintain a good balance. Sometimes I’d be looking and feeling great with my physique, but I’d be stress eating like crap. Sometimes when work would get crazy and I’d put in 12 hour days, I’d still hit my workouts but they’d be pretty weak. And some months I’d slack off more than others, averaging about 4 workouts per week within a stressful month. By setting a goal of working out 300 times in 365 days, it doesn’t allow you much room for slacking off and forces you to be consistent throughout the entire year, otherwise, you fall far behind.

How? ??

Sorry to be cliche?, but as I write in my book, one of the key elements to achieving really difficult goals is ensuring that you have support groups. These can consist of mentors, peers, friends, family, coaches, etc. I was able to hit this goal (much like every other ridiculous goal that I set) by proactively creating an ecosystem of supportive people who pushed me, coached me, and were trying to hit the goal as well. I put this out to my network and brought people along the journey (which held me accountable). And I also created private groups on IG and for other people who were doing the challenge with me and this constant loop of motivation kept me going during times when I really didn’t feel like working out.

What’s next? ??

Moving forward, I’m gonna try and keep up the consistency w/ everything that this challenge has inadvertently influenced in my life. I’ve been able to fine-tune my diet. I started doing cardio, legs, and abs on a weekly basis. I became relentless with my sleep (averaging 7-7.5 hours every single night). And I cut back on drinking - currently going on 35 day cleanse, and will hit 55 days by the end of the year. I also started stretching and foam rolling nearly every single day.

So, who is down for 300 workouts in 2021? ??
