New details on Harbor East's CHANEL boutique
If you're a regular BBJ reader, you likely saw my article last week about global fashion and beauty retailer CHANEL planning to open a stand-alone fragrance and beauty boutique in Harbor East. When I reported the company was planning to take over the former Lululemon Athletica space at 820 Aliceanna St., I reached out to 香奈儿 , and the company just got back to me yesterday with a few more details about the store. Specifically, it will be 2,775 square feet in size and offer the full range of CHANEL fragrance, makeup and skincare products, as well as an exclusive selection of eyewear. A public relations spokesperson for the company also added that the opening will take place this fall.

Peak travel seasons are changing
With more people working remotely or in a hybrid fashion, the seasonality of travel is starting to shift, reports the Triangle Business Journal. Peak leisure months from March to October may be even stronger, while the period from November to February — when airlines rely on business travelers — looks weaker, according to United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby . Eventually, those changes may result in airlines rethinking their schedules. But first, they want to see how remote work impacts travel this fall.

The spring 2023 housing market is off to a different start than its 2021 and 2022 counterparts, but it's not quite a typical pre-pandemic market either, writes Ashley Fahey of The National Observer. Total existing-home sales fell 2.4% from February, and year-over-year sales activity fell 22%. Although demand for housing has slowed amid mortgage-rate increases, inventory remains in low supply and fewer people are putting their homes on the market after locking in a low interest rate during the pandemic.
