Throughout June, The Wildlife Trust run their annual challenge, 30 Days Wild. Throughout this month, it is a chance to take one day at a time and explore ways to engage with nature and do something wild throughout the month.
For me I used photography as my activity in which I engaged with nature to capture the month, watching and observing the changes in my garden and local area. This enabled me to pause and take notice. This also aligns with the '5 ways to wellbeing' of 1: Connect 2: Get active, 3: Take Notice, 4: Learn and 5: Give.
30 Days Wild is now over for another year, but The Wildlife Trusts, provide lots of ideas and inspiration of how you can keep this going beyond June.
Taking it further...
If this month has inspired you to explore further conservation, climate change and sustainability, then there a a range of ways that you can explore citizen science projects, examples include:
The Wildlife Trust - national and regional Citizen Science projects listed on their website.
Butterfly Conservations 'Big Butterfly Count' which is taking place between 12th July and 4th August.
If you want to explore more about the connections to nature and wellbeing - then the Nature Connectedness Research Group at the University of Derby leads on this area of work.
