Day 1 Challenge: How Are You Feeling Right Now?

Today, we begin with a simple but powerful question: How are you feeling right now? Before you continue reading, pause for a moment. Take a few deep breaths, and truly check in with yourself. What emotions are present? Are they soft whispers of contentment, or perhaps louder feelings of stress, joy, or anxiety?

Write down what comes up for you. Acknowledging these emotions is the first step toward emotional awareness.

Why This Question Matters

It’s easy to push through life without ever really checking in on how we’re doing emotionally. But our emotions offer important feedback. They tell us what’s happening beneath the surface and, more importantly, why it’s happening. When you ask yourself, “How am I feeling?” regularly, you’re starting a conversation with your inner self—a conversation that will help you make heart-centered decisions.

By becoming aware of your emotional state, you gain insight into what’s driving your thoughts and behaviors.   • Close your eyes if you feel safe to do so, the audio version works best for this and take a few deep breaths: Inhale deeply through your nose, hold for a moment, and exhale slowly. Do this three times to settle your mind.
  • Place Your Hand on Your Heart: This simple physical gesture brings your awareness to your heart. As you hold your hand there, notice the warmth and calm it brings.
  • Listen for Guidance: Ask your heart, “What am I truly feeling?” or “What do I need right now?” Then, listen. You might feel a gentle nudge toward self-care, setting boundaries, or expressing gratitude. Whatever it is, honor the message.
  • Now open your eyes.

Step 3: Use Your Feelings as Feedback

Now that you’ve centered yourself, think about how these emotions can guide your day. What are they telling you? How can they inform your next steps?

For example:

  • If you're feeling overwhelmed, maybe your heart is guiding you to slow down, take breaks, or prioritize self-care.
  • If you're feeling motivated, your heart may be encouraging you to channel that energy into a project that aligns with your goals.

Turn your emotions into actionable feedback. Remember, this isn’t about controlling or fixing your feelings—it’s about understanding them and allowing them to inform how you move forward.

Your Emotional Check-In for the Day
