IDEAS TO MAKE THE WORLD MORE BEAUTIFUL

Reporting Live, it is your favorite forward-thinking researcher! I was hanging out with my dear friend Cora who is a very talented multi-medium artist over thanksgiving week and I think we have struck gold. She has not come across the existence of such a tool as a productive artist living in Europe and Los Angeles, nor have I.

First a little context – I believe that each and every single one of us humans is an artist and creator; however not all of us have woken up to the creative genius that is hibernating within us. And part of waking up that beautiful monster is exploring different forms of art and creation productively; brining the inspiration which resides within us to life and growing in the process. In my case, making that time to sit and DO THE WORK was so difficult. However, I was able to realize that I needed the power of community to fuel my ambition and make the creative process less intimidating and more motivating.

WHAT IS THE IDEA?! Drum roll please ??

The idea is a social entrepreneurship project that provides a service. The service of bringing together groups of creatives. So, imagine coordination, logistics, and matchmaking a group of 4 creative explorers to meet virtually at a regular frequency. Currently, writer’s groups exist; however, we have not come across a group of creatives pursuing different mediums coming together to support each other.

At these meetings, creatives would begin by getting to know each other, share their creative pursuits and aspirations, set goals; and then meet regularly to share progress, hurdles, hold each other accountable, problem-solve, and network.

The idea relies on the commitment of people who realize they perform better when fuel and motivation comes from outside of themselves as opposed to intrinsically. From my perception, so much of art and the creation is intrinsically motivated and I am passionate about a solution that can support those of us who are more extrinsically motivated to fuel our drive to explore our creative sides.

How about financial viability, you might be wondering? Social entrepreneurship does not rely on the kind of return on investment that more traditional venture capitalist funded projects. Additionally, social entrepreneurship relies on exponentially longer timelines to attain financial viability.

With that in mind, we envision the artist pod project to be a combination of subscription based as well as outcomes based off any proceeds generated from the sale of the art or creative product.

It is important to note, profit is not the primary objective of this project, social good is. In its initial stages, the project would rely on some volunteer support to operationalize this project.

Can you imagine a passionate painter in small town Texas who is in an artist pod with a photographer based in Los Angeles; and as a result, the painter relying on the connections of the LA based photographer finding an avenue to display and sell their work at an art show in LA? How amazing would that be?! That is the dream and this article is the first step in that manifestation process!

Have you ever encountered an artist pod before? What do you think of the idea? Let us know in the comments!

Thank you so much for being part of this blog. I look forward to the next one, till then, I wish you Love and Light!
