The 3 Work Modes That Keep Me Productive and Free
Recently, I returned from a couple of road trips, feeling ready to work on the business again.
And then? Nothing.
No motivation, no energy.
There is too much going on with the house.
There is too much going on with the children.
There is too much going on in my mind.
And no inclination to return to the routine.
And no guilt either.
I realised I am not a robot.?
That was a relief.
But how to run a business when you're not a machine?
Simple systems and processes that can keep things ticking over.
But more importantly? Just like driving a car, it is knowing what gear you're in.
I have three work modes:
1. Chill: I'm doing NOTHING but relaxing.?
2. Growth: I'm productive. I work at my usual level, which allows my business to operate with flow and also grow at a steady pace.
3. Accelerate: These are times when I feel more inspired or motivated than usual by something new and exciting. It doesn't feel like work.

The key is not to try to be too fast when you're in chill mode and to embrace the speed of Accelerate mode.
Accept that you are human and have natural cycles.
But also be honest with yourself - and recognise the difference between natural cycles and laziness.
I'll return to normal mode soon.
For now, I am chilling. Previous Accelerations have earned me that right.
After all, I am designing my business for freedom.
