3 Weeks of Salesforce Madness - A Recap

3 Weeks of Salesforce Madness - A Recap

It’s been just over three weeks since I last posted an SFB Weekly - so apologies, I’m sure you’ve missed me dearly.?

But in those three weeks SO much has happened. I always say “there is never a dull moment in the Salesforce ecosystem”, but the last few weeks have delivered countless announcements. Constantly keeps us on our toes, the news has been super interesting, although controversial at times.?

Let’s start with some of the biggest announcements from TrailblazerDX….

TDX Announcements

TrailblazerDX is Dreamforce’s smaller sibling. Hosted in San Francisco, it’s dedicated to Admins, Developer, Architects - any technical members of the Salesforce community. It’s also where some of the biggest product announcements are made, and this year didn’t disappoint…

Flow will be enabled to work with Slack, Mulesoft, Tableau, and RPA. This is massive news and the customisation possibilities will be endless.

Next up, Slack is being tightly integrated into Salesforce, to have not only Flow at your disposal, but also an Apex SDK tool. In addition, dedicated apps will be released for Sales, Service, and Marketing Cloud to easily enable common integration features.?

There are a number of other announcements, which can all be found in our round-up post right here. One reveal not on that list, is the new Salesforce Business Analyst & Salesforce Strategy Designer certifications.

Product?Announcements

A few weeks ago, there were some fairly major announcements released by Salesforce, primarily around the renaming of 6 Marketing Cloud products. Salesforce changed names such as Pardot and Datorama to “Marketing Cloud Account Engagement”, and “Marketing Cloud Intelligence”, respectively. Rolls right off the tongue, ay??

This was fairly controversial amongst the Pardot and Marketing Cloud communities for a variety of reasons. Salesforce held a strong stance on their reasons for the change, primarily to make what the products do immediately understandable.?

My point of view is that, yes, change is hard, but ultimately this should help Salesforce better compete in the future, which will trickle down to the Salesforce ecosystem.?

Perhaps the more easily accepted announcement, is that Marketing Cloud Social Studio will be retired in Nov 2024, this will likely be replaced by the partnership with Sprout Social.?

In addition, Tableau CRM, (previously known as Einstein Analytics, previously known as Wave Analytics), has been renamed to “CRM Analytics”. Makes sense from my point of view, Tableau and CRM Analytics are very different products, and this helps clear up any confusion.?

Lastly, to put the icing on the cake, Salesforce has quietly renamed myTrailhead to Sales Enablement, and High Velocity Sales to Sales Engagement (confirmed in the Summer ‘22 Release Notes).

Phennecs Acquisition

Amongst all the madness, here’s another bit of news you might have missed, the acquisition of Phennecs.

Phennecs is a provider of privacy, compliance, and data management solutions. Primarily, they have a product that allows you to anonymise personal data in sandboxes to ensure compliance against breaching PCI, GDPR, CCPA & HIPAA privacy regulations.

FlowFest V2

I’m also pleased to announce that FlowFest is back!?

Sign up via this link to register as a competitor or spectator. We had over 1,500 registrations last event, and we expect V2 to be bigger!
