3 Ways You Can Create Differentiation in Your Content Marketing So That It Attracts The Right Audience

We all know there’s a content overload! With millions of content churned out daily, ensuring that you are engaging your audience can be challenging.?

Without even realising it business owners, entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, and freelancers get tangled up.

Adding to the hundred and one problems already on your plate!

You must be thinking, “how on earth am I going to stand out and ensure that my voice is heard in this ocean of content?”

It’s one thing to realize that content marketing is a key component of your marketing strategy, but it’s a different ball game knowing how to go about it.

However, the good news is that you can surmount that hurdle. Yes, you can in three simple ways at that!

Creating content and content strategy

It is important to clearly understand what content you want to create and how it will fit into your content strategy before starting to produce any kind of content.

Creating great content begins with clearly understanding your audience, what they need and want, and how your content can help them.

Once you know who your target audience is, what kind of content they will find valuable, and how you can help them, you can begin creating both useful and engaging content.

When creating content, it is also important to consider the format that will work best for your audience and your goals. For example, if you want to create blog posts designed to drive traffic to your website, you will want to ensure that your posts are well-written, informative, and keyword-rich.

On the other hand, if you are creating content for social media, you will want to focus on creating short, attention-grabbing pieces that will encourage your followers to share your content with their networks.

3 Ways to differentiate your content marketing

1. Be bold and dare to stand out

Your business is unique, so your content should be too!

Be bold in your approach to content creation. To stand out, focus on your ‘why’. Your purpose. It’s what makes your business unique and helps your brand voice to have a personality and tonality that makes you stand out from the rest,? capture attention and help you build a loyal following.

So go ahead and be bold. Your readers will thank you for it!

2. Develop your content from another point of view

As you develop your content, it’s important to keep your audience in mind. What are they looking for? What do they want to know? Write your content from their perspective, and you’ll be sure to keep them engaged.

Think about what topics would be most interesting or helpful to your audience, and then craft your content accordingly. If you’re not sure what they want, ask!

You can survey your audience or reach out to them directly to get their feedback.

Once you understand what your audience is looking for, it’s time to start writing. Keep your tone friendly and helpful, and be sure to include plenty of useful information.

3. Controversy sells too

Controversy is a powerful content marketing strategy. And no, we don’t mean you should offend anyone in the process or be overly contradictory.

Just something as subtle as expressing your perspective, on the issue, and communicating? your message. More like from an opposite direction or angle to drive home your message.

If nothing else, your readers will appreciate your authenticity more than you would if you had repeated what countless others have said.

I default to sharing info that I think my audience will find useful. And I try to mix the formats: long, short, text only, video, slides and images. On differentiation, I like what Chris Lochhead says about defining your category so you can own it. Being different is better than being better.
