3 Ways To Write Articles Your Client Approves Instantly

Today I came across Shreya Pattar's YT video in which she is talking about how you can write articles that your client approves instantly without the unneeded hassle.

After watching this video, I took a screenshot and shared it on my Instagram story, and tagged her with the line “someone please kick me in my ass for not writing but just learning.”

Later on, she mentioned me back in her story, and she gave me a task with a deadline, for which I am really grateful. The task was to write down the 3 takeaways from her video.

So, that is the reason for the motivation for writing this article.?

Has this ever happened to you when you submit your article to your clients and they disapprove by saying “this is not what I wanted” or “the client is not satisfied with your work”? Or did you get into some sort of argument just because they didn't get what they were expecting and you didn't realize some important factors before writing their article?

So in this article, I am going to talk about how you can avoid “arguments” and more editing by writing articles your clients approve of.?

?1. Get the Brief Approved

?This is the first step you must take to prevent disputes while delivering your work. Get the brief of the articles, which will mainly consist of 2 things.

???The Basic details and the guidelines

?????Basic information such as?

  • What would be the topics?
  • Word count
  • The number of edits
  • Submission date
  • What is the purpose of the article?

Some companies are formal about their brand language, so make sure you ask them for guidelines.

  • ?What kind of tone
  • ?The voice they want
  • ?Ask about keywords.
  • ?backlinks, hyperlinks

Whether they are going to provide you with everything or not,

Get clear about everything.?

Get all the information you can about the articles.?

Make a note of these requirements and send them to your client for approval. Sometimes you may miss a point.??

This way, you will get an idea of what the client is looking for and what you need to do to fulfill your client's requirements.

After the brief has been approved, proceed to the next point, which is

2. Make An Outline

This is the most basic and most important step before writing an article, yet people take this lightly and don’t make any effort while outlining.

Outlining will prevent unnecessary disputes at the time of submitting your work.

Write topics and subtopics, research well, and make it precise; don’t stuff it with fillers and make it vague. Mention only significant points in the bullet format.?

This way, you are giving a structure to what you are going to talk about in the article.

Then send this to your client and wait for their approval. Don’t just send and assume you will get approved and start writing.?

Maybe your client wants some important point to be mentioned, or a particular topic to be short or long, or it could be anything.

Make changes according to your client’s wishes and then again send your outline. Do this until you get approved.?

The most important thing is to make sure you ask lots of questions to get clarity on what you are going to do.?

Working hard on your outline will save you energy when writing your article; after that, you only need to frame the sentences.

Now you have a structure for your article, you can start writing.

3. Get Actionable Feedback?

??Sometimes your client just says, “I don’t like this article, or give any other reason for not liking it.” Ask them what they don't like. The tone, the voice, the style, or what else?

?Ask them questions. Ask them for specific feedback so you can take action and improve.?

In this case, while making your contract, you can mention the point that you need specific actionable feedback so your client can’t argue.

Conclusion:

?Keep your clients involved throughout the writing process. Ask them questions, get clear about anything you want to know and don’t let a lack of communication affect your work. Learn from your problems and create your own process. Keep it simple. Don’t complicate anything unnecessarily.

?If you can get what your clients want, then why won't they approve of your work???

Apply these points and tell me in the comments how it worked and share your strategies for writing an article.
